As for munch lol google s&m munch :D
I was wondering when someone was going to point out the usual meaning of the word munch. Didn’t want to myself, but angels rush in Lu!!!

s&m munch isn’t the same as the usual meaning I had for munch though…
Sorry.
Should have said the usual alternative meaning to munch meaning biting into something.
Munch is not necessarily an s&m thing, it is just a word for people who are into certain things getting together in non threatening surroundings that don’t draw attention to themselves.
Never been to one, before you ask.
19 October, 2012 at 10:18 am #513068When I were a lad, we used to gnaw on an old bit of rusty metal and drink some bin juice before our step father beat us to sleep with a supermarket trolley handle.
We got up before we went bed, did a 22 hour paper round then paid the boss for the privilege of looking for gas leaks with a lit match down pit.
We had so little, but somehow we were happier in those days. Now I have a phone, a computer, a working bladder and a new prosthetic, yet I’m miserable as sin.
Ah the good ol days.
Take me back…..
….or take me away. One of the two.

19 October, 2012 at 10:09 am #513092Not quite so cruel is the number of people in Wales called things like Evan Evans, William Williams, Rhys Rees and of course, my favourite, John John.
:?
19 October, 2012 at 10:06 am #513091What about the two kids I went to school with – Jon and William Dickie – I kid you not.
We were waiting for Ricky Dickie to come along but he never did.

“Peter Rabbit,” Beatrix Potter.
Any of the above correct?

18 October, 2012 at 2:26 pm #513005Given that the mistakes that happen are often by firearms specialists, who knows what would happen if every cop carried one.
Don’t even agree with tasers being used by non-specialists. If you have a cardiac condition they can kill you instantly – that’s a large proportion of the population who might be better off being hit by a bullet. So much for less than lethal force.
Anyway give the police guns, the criminals will only escalate too – more violence not less.

So you’re not just a grumpy old b*gger after all.

I think asking for social cohesion while the economy is flatlining, or possibly plunged into a new crisis (the US fiscal cliff or a eurozone crisis will knock the UK economy flat) is whistling lin the wind. I agree and that is exactly my fear.
I know what you say is true but surely we have to at least have a go.
Just like that guy with the beard who was nailed to a bit of wood 2000 years ago for saying “wouldn’t it be better if we were all be a bit nicer to each other?”.
Naive or visionary? Probably neither. But someone’s got to say these things or we just give up. Remember the 1930s and the Second World War? Neither do I but, hell, we have the most obvious warning from history right there in front of us.
We are Europeans (apologies Terry but we are), the most violent, uncompromising people on the planet. Do people really think it wont happen here if we just kick the public sector and the dole cheats hard enough?
I think I know the answer to that question.
 :(
