Is it promoting acceptance of the rich variety of human existence, or giving people a quick thrill, whilst reassuring them that only damaged people really do this stuff?

Just review how few of the posts involve serious abuse on this thread.
We’ve managed to talk most of it out with a few posts basically saying “take it somewhere else” and some entertaining tea and coffee banter started by ol cosy.
I think we can all be justifiably proud or even smug.
