If you can’t say something nice, and decide to say it anyway, at least don’t moan about the consequences

    Too true.

Like MPs expenses. Most of them were legal, it just left a nasty taste in people’s mouths. Who wouldn’t claim what they could under their employers policies?

Not a way we like to look at ourselves. We would never try to get something for nothing or get more for ourselves at the expense of others. We would never rob the big guy not thinking about the consequences for other little guys like us. We wouldn’t even consider it. Wouldn’t we?

    Mmmmmmm…………………………..

“Let he who is without guilt” or of pure thought “cast the first stone”.

    Very true.

People seem to stop think it’s OK to do things online that would be regarded as a bit dodgy outside, just cos they think there are no consequences.

Sadly there can be really nasty ones and people get hurt.

You keep your principles girl. At the end of the day, you’re the only one who really has to live with you. At least you can have some self-respect.

I agree and disagree, I don’t think it is ok at all, that is why I feel so awful – however, having said that, I would have done the same in ‘real’ life.

Least you’re a big enough person to be honest. Many aren’t. Takes a better human being than most to admit their mistakes and weaknesses, especially around here.

Was referring to others without your self awareness or conscience.

BTW I have no particular sympathy for those who avoid tax. If you earn the money you can afford to pay.

At the same time, there will always be loopholes. I expect people to use them. I also expect politicians to keep closing them.

Think of it this way, if you win a game by sticking to the rules, you are a worthy winner. If you do things that are within the rules but people disagree with them, the correct thing to do is for the governing body to get together and change the rules.

You don’t retrospectively change the result of the game. Neither do you moan on and on and on about how unfair the result was. You deal with it, get over it, and move on.

I do not expect this constant moaning about people going about their lawful business from a millionaire politician, whose father reportedly had lots of (legal) tax dodges when he was alive.

Cameron is a millionaire surrounded by other millionaires. Bet they are all taking advantage of tax laws to pay as little as possible – as would most people. If the loopholes exist to “avoid” tax then it ain’t illegal. Simples. Since his entourage cannot be squeaky clean in terms of tax avoidance, he is heading for a comedown real fast.

The thing that makes me really sick though is the whole accountability issue. The Inland Revenue knows the wheezes and tells the politicians about them.

So who is responsible for the tax system – oh yes – it’s David Cameron and his friends. And it has been for a couple of years now; quite long enough to change things.

So the government is criticising someone for legally using the government’s own tax system to pay their tax? Sounds to me like the fault is with the muppet politicians who let this continue, and not with someone acting within the law. Yet the hypocrites still have the cheek to parade other people through the press as if they were unclean just for keeping to the rules.

If you couldn’t take responsibility for your own actions at work, people would be quick enough to call you incompetent. Everything is still everyone else’s fault. The double dip recession wisna me. It was that naughty Labour Party. It was those nasty immigrants. It’s all the fault of the Euro zone. And now, it’s those law abiding citizens paying their tax.

Davie boy, forget your Eton mannerisms, you’re just a cheap, shiny-suited showman. If you can’t take it like a man, and have to bleat about everyone else all the time, you’re certainly no gentleman.

There’s a word for people like him but it doesn’t come out right on the boards unless you mess with the code.

Smug, unpleasant, insulting, lacking in empathy and selfish – or a four letter word brought to you by the letter “c”.

I really enjoyed the start of this thread.

What happened and why the punch up in the corner?

Personally I am pleased that there have been lots of goals and very little trouble in Poland or Ukraine so far. Long may it continue.

Maybe some peace and love could break out here as well.

    :D

Football hooliganism taking a different direction…fist fights without getting ur knuckles brusied

    Just some keyboard heroes.

They get tanked up on cheap tea then go out on the net, frighten some grannies and wave their handbags at people on match day.

(Can I make it clear that I am just making a gentle joke? Please don’t frighten my grannie – cos she’s dead, well both of them are really – or wave your handbag at me cos I’m clearly carefully dressed to want to fight and get my clothes messed up.)

I’m at a loss what to say! But I’m sure it will only be momentary. :P

Hey panda mee ol’ mucker, you will have noticed I haven’t been on for months.

Gotta come back with a bang – or at least confuse everyone completely!

What – you hadn’t noticed I was gone……….. I’m just off to the corner to cry now…………well the corner I call a kitchen to make some tea.

I’m even questioning whether to use the boards, I’ve noticed people are quick to have a go at you thinking they’re better than you on here. I was even accused of making up my post about worst dates, believe it or not I don’t have that much time on my hands. :?

Hey I can’t say anything. I’m on and off this site like a woman of ill repute’s undergarments.

It’s all harmless to an extent, but all the manure gets a bit tiring and boring after a while, so I tend to bog off for a while.

Real shame as there are some really great people here, and some real debates and a good few good laughs to be had.

Usually the good outweighs the bad…………..I think.
