How terrible is that Tinks… both my kids went to university and they were lucky that as parents we were able to fund them so they left with no debts. Having said that they both worked part time whilst at Uni… so provided themselves with money too. The new University charges are ridiculous though, imagine £9,000 per year just for a degree and no guarantee of a job at the end of it….. farcical!! a real recipe for student demonstrations and social unrest!

Interesting question Eve… Should prostitution be legalised?… well the arguments for are:
It would reduce crime, improve public health, increase tax revenue, help people out of poverty, get prostitutes off the streets, and allow consenting adults to make their own choices.
Opponents believe that legalising prostitution would lead to increases in sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS, global human trafficking, and violent crime including rape and murder. They contend that prostitution is inherently immoral, commercially exploitative, empowers the criminal underworld, and promotes the repression of women by men.
So which argument do you agree with? In Sweden its buying sex not selling it that is illegal, interesting idea although opponents say its impossible to police.
I am against legalising prostitution… I think that society is eroding at an alarming rate and this is just another step in the wrong direction I’m not sure what the answer is, there does need to be some safeguards put in place but the thought of brothel on every high street is not a solution I care to see.
I cannot imagine the torment the McCanns are going through…. when my kids were tiny I ate in the hotel restaurant whilst they slept in the hotel bedroom… very similar. I think it has all been said… I fear this little girl is dead. I just wish there was some closure for her parents.

I don’t remember the Walker Brothers singing No Regrets but I do remember when Midge Ure sang it in the 80s. It was only when I listened to your link that I realised Midge had recorded it as a cover !
Actually Sugar it was recorded even earlier by the Everly Brothers, it was a B side for one of their hits I forget which one and I dont recall ever hearing it,,, but I remember it was also sung by them. The Walker Brothers made it their own though,, Scotts voice was perfect for the song.

Gosh was so upset when I heard the news that John Walker has died… John lived with a friend of mine for a number of years… I know she will be upset… I hate it waking up to news like this RIP John

Sounds lovely thin… hope the weather holds for you. My daughter got married last August very similar to your planned event… it rained but still it was a lovely day.
I have had a few events this year but nothing special planned for the future…. have a holiday booked which will be nice… oh and a barbecue next week…. does that count :)
