I belong to a few forums where I have to keep typing in my email addy or username and password. It does deter the trolls and scary ppl.

Still think if ppl have to register with an email address and login using that and a password it will deter abusers as you can just ban their email address.
Ban them a few times and they’ll soon get bored with having to set up a new email addy each time.
