Well I’ve just learnt something new. I didnt know “chav” referred to a particular racial group within a social class of people.
Is it like the english or British version of “cheap white trailer trash?”
I find that term as repugnant as the terms used to describe black people.
I rarely use the term Chav but will stop altogether now.
Btw Terry, I never said British ppl are lazy. I think I said English ppl… :P I am of course joking.

22 June, 2012 at 1:01 pm #499620I have had three dogs, all rescue.
Oscar, Barney and Harvey. RIP

Have six cats now. All waifs and strays. Loves them all.

So do I take it you don’t work in a mortuary?
I have done, a long time ago, but not anymore, and not in this country.
There was a thread on here where I posted I needed the patience of a Saint in my job (which I do now) so Teapot asked what I did. I’m not going to divulge what I do for a living on here, so I thought of a previous role and mischieviously said mortuary technican.
I thought Teapot would pick up on the irony but didn’t. Instead I think she said words to the effect that it suited me, more I suspect as an insult, to what she feels is my “cold” personality (rather than alluring to the compassion, repect and empathy required, particulary when dealing with family members of the deceased,) so I thought I’d carry on the pretence.
So there you have it. No doubt Teapot will want to shoot me but she’ll have to join the back of the queue. :D
Ah I see…you mean you lied.
Yep!

Self employed ppl can quite easily avoid or evade paying tax.
Really? Does someone want to tell me how?
Self employed ppl quite often ask for cash in hand. They may declare some earnings but not all. Easier to hide cash payments so no paying tax on their full income.
Also, self employed ppl can set up their own company, pay themself a small salary and the rest in dividends so lessening their tax burden.
Having a Limited Company paying your wages and then dividends is neither illegal or immoral..if someone works hard and sets up their own company/companies and wants to determine their own wages etc why shouldn’t they? Seems unless your P.A.Y.E you must be up to something dodgy or hiding something…
I never said there was anything wrong with starting a limited company but it is a way of reducing one’s tax liability.
I was merely responding to Jen’s question in how self employed ppl can avoid paying tax via a limited company and evade paying it by not declaring income paid in cash.
Evasion is illegal, avoidance isn’t.

1% income tax should be applicable to everyone.
I think the government should make it an offence for all employers to pay into that
K2 scheme. You just know the BBC are up to their neck in it.I thought Carr was employed by Channel 5? Or Dave or some other channel?

Did someone say something??
I just laughed out loud, but I was trying something about laughter therapy off the telly. What have I missed?
Nothing much. Just Teapot the Troll and her bizaare infatuation with me!
Understandable though, innit? :D
I had a bizarre infatuation once, bloody inconvenient!!
The best way to deal with infatuations is not to become infatuated with them. :D
Now you tell me! Forkin’ passion! Dammit!
I take it you’re over Nora Batty now? :D
