I personally think that if this had been any other family, there would have been a media fuss and possibly some involvement from the authorities.
But it’s the Prime Minister and his wife, therefore, they couldn’t possibly be capable of child neglect, could they? :-s
Who knows what type of parents they are, they might be wonderful parents but we shouldn’t assume that just because of their social and political standing.
Then of course there is the irony – Cameron wants to tackle problem families and problem drinking. So what does he do? Leave his child behind in a pub.
Yes, he is human but he also a “leader” (though I hold no truck with him) so he should always set the standards by which we follow…
And yes I do firmly believe that in this country there one law for the rich and one law for the poor.
12 June, 2012 at 3:39 pm #498909The thing about Cameron is, surely the security guards should have done a head count for the family.
I don’t blame them but surely that’s fundamental to being a body guard? In addition, if a school child had been left behind on a school trip would it have been brushed aside by the media? Would the parents have been understanding?

I left my small baby in his pushchair in the school playground once. Walked halfway home before realising what I had done. The second you realise what you have done you can’t run fast enough back….luckily my friend was on her way to my house, with the baby and pushchair! It feels like it only happened yesterday its so vivid and leaves a knot in my stomach at the thought…
However it does happen…I don’t know how many others have done it..maybe not one single person on this site has……I guess many would think it makes me a bad parent…but I know I am not…it happened…some would also probably say there is no excuse on the planet that could be made/said to leave you child….and I can understand that too….but I am not ashamed to say it happened as it was not deliberate…and it is not the first time I have told anyone………..and before anyone says…no I’m not proud of it…there have been times where I have told others it happened …… should social services interveened…..I definitely think notAnyway please feel free to comment
You were on your own, though.
Both parents were with this girl as well as a load of body guards.
And you’re not running the country, well I don’t think you are, lol

One of my posts concerning Philip K D i c k was turned into Phiulip K Richard by them. Add ‘heads’ to the author’s actual surname and you get a clearer idea of the censoring system practised here.
I know, I did reply to that!
If I ever have a maiden aunt, I’m gonna call her Doughnut Mae
That’s a bit jammy.
Sweet, fruity and sticky . . . . . . . drools . . . . . .

Why am I picturing Homer Simpson? :P

As in panic or become anxious
In medieval times women got panicked because they actually thought they were going to give birth to kittens!

11 June, 2012 at 9:39 pm #498897I agree but you know it won’t happen. It was kept pretty low key in the media as well.
I love the way the security staff were under scrutiny. At least they won’t face disciplinary action.
Seems the Cameron’s are typical of many parents these days – unwilling to take responsibility for their own kids.
It’s rather disturbing that this guy runs the country when he can’t organise something as fundamental as ensuring his own child gets home safely!
Jeez!
