So, what came first – the gollywog or the racist connatations?
To sum up my research, the gollywog came first, racists later hijacked the term “wog” to insult black ppl.
So Jack and his family, past, present and future should be seen for exactly what they – innocent, harmless dolls.
To do otherwise would be to let the racists win.
