12 September, 2007 at 5:43 pm #286902The parents of Madeleine McCann are considering commissioning independent forensic tests on the hire car that they used in Portugal. This will be interesting.
Portuguese police have played down reports that DNA evidence with a 100% match to Madeleine was found in the car. Doh! seems like the media got it wrong eh.
As for the large quantity of hair supposedly found hmm
Just a word of advice, dont believe everything you read in the papers

……dead bodies dont bleed ……..
As it happens that statement is factually incorrect. Dead bodies ‘leak’ large amounts of ‘bodily fluids’ particularly as decomposition starts to advance.
These fluids include (amongst other things) blood and it is absolutely possible to get an indisputable DNA match from this.
It is extraordinarily difficult to move a dead body without some leakage of fluids – as would appear to be the case here.
This being the case, why was only a minute amount of DNA found? Surely if it was a dead body as is being suggested, there would’ve been more than just a smidgen of DNA present

:!: Has News reporting going bonkers, how can the news editors even consider broadcasting such claptrap – re finding matching DNA evidence belonging to Madeline found in a Hire Car 5 weeks after her disappearance.
Has common sense flown out of the window, how in heaven’s name could this be factual, when the parents were under constant observation and scrutiny at all times.
Have we all forgotten what happened when a local girl was snatched some years ago, only for the mother to be accused of killing her. It was later found the evidence was planted by the Police.
Would it not be ironic if we are looking at the same scenario, planted DNA.
Egg on who’s faces afterwards, News Reporting has a responsibility to broadcast true and factual information, not pie in the sky nonsense
:(An interesting theory – but if it was planted by the police, you’d have to consider how it could be done.
It would mean that the police would have had to have access to Maddie’s blood BEFORE she was allegedly abducted, in order to have it available to be planted AFTERWARDS.
As nobody knew that she was going to be (allegedly) abducted beforehand, there would be no reason to collect her blood in order to plant it subsequently.
Just because we none of us know just what the McCanns movements were, either just before Maddie’s demise, or for long periods afterwards …. it doesn’t mean that they couldn’t have retrieved her body from wherever and moved it in the boot of their hire car.
As I understand it, the police apparantly found Maddies blood on a window sill in the apartment, thereby giving them a sample of her DNA.
And as for retrieving the body and placing it in the boot of a car….how on earth would this have been possible with all the worlds media camped outside 24/7??
