Not sure whether to go for it or not, I’ve heard mixed reviews…Hi Jen .. Well I loved it! It’s quite a fast paced story of a man and his approach to life . His Work and his family and about time and how he chooses to spend it and ultimately the regrets.. it sort of adds to the mystery. I won’t spoil the ending for those who would like to read it or are in process of reading it , but if anyone has read P.S I love you well this is a typical Ahern novel. It has that same kind of draw that carries you along as you try to fathom out what is going on … You start to guess what will happen and yes its a bit OTT but its a story not real life so its allowed to be kinda unbelievable. I did have few tears in the final pages as it’s quite soul searching towards the end ! I guess you either will love it or hate it ! My only criticism would be the Turkey Boy character .. I think it could have worked with just the two Garda discussing what had happened with each other rather than the story being told to the boy !
