We “set up” Israel and it isn’t very likely that we, or any other sensible nation, is going to eridicate the state. As long as palestine lobs rockets and suicide bombers at Israel the stand off will go on, with only one victor. Lets face it Israel could crush any Arab state that opposes it. Hell even the Lebanese treat the Palestinians with contempt, does anyone really think Iran is trying to help it’s “brothers” by arming them ?
There needs to be a peace and a settlement with probably more concessions from Israel than from Palestinian sources, but while militants rule the roost that’s never going to happen. And after 9/11 does anyone really think The U.S. or anyone else, is going to use troops to broker a peace.
The palestinian authorities at least seem to want the eradication of Israel and nothing else will do.

Or Israel could simply stop the blockade altogether and let all and sundry sail to Gaza, i mean they wouldn’t bring weapons in surely ? :shock:
What exactly did they expect to happen ? Israel would back down ? Have they ever ? How can offering entry to Gaza via the Ashdod port after inspection be oppression ? Or maybe the inspection was the problem. What exactly have the flotilla achieved ?
Confronting Israel and launching a few rockets over borders is not going to bring a solution to the problem.
The moral of the tale is if a big fella with a gun tells you not to do something or else then don’t be bloody pigheaded and do it anyway, whether he’s right or wrong he’s the big fella with the gun.
