I think Becks deserves a place in the squad, to be honest. How can Wright-Phillips be said to have earned his place over the last year or so? I reckon McLaren just wants him gone so he doesn’t loom too much over the picture, if you follow my meaning.

I’ve already said that radical Islam uses these injustices as a recruiting device. What I maintain, though, is that it is not only about that and is a much wider struggle. As for the British people not having a choice at an election, of course they did. They weighed the issues of the day, as they always do, they could have voted Liberal or BNP or Respect or SNP* in their droves and brought down the government for the war, but they chose not to.
* I omit the Conservative party since they too supported the Iraq war and as such would not have constituted an obvious anti-war vote.

:D I can indeed explain, Lambrini. I wanted, in the French version, to encapsulate that nation’s love of allegorical philosophy, in the manner of Voltaire, Rousseau, Sartre and Foucault. I thought that might make a more fitting translation.
I wanted the north London version to bring to mind the spirit of lovable common sense displayed by Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

I don’t like any marine mammal. I especially despise the baby ones and am therefore only too pleased to see them hunted. In fact, I think we, and fish, would be better off without any of them. Maybe we should hunt them to extinction. It would be a great laugh and the price of fish fingers would tumble dramatically.
