Yeah. I’d say Argentina’s big failing was when they were out of possession. All the decent teams caused them great bother. They only really handed out a whipping to the Serbs. I’d say any of the quarter finalists save the Ukraine could have won it if they’d started sparking like the French and the Italians managed to.
Overall, I think the Italians were worthy winners. Keeping your cool is part of the game and Zizou didn’t manage it.

Well we all need someone to lean on
And if you want it, well you can lean on me
Well, we all need someone we can lean on
And if you want it, well you can lean on meShe said my breasts they will always be open
Baby, you can rest your weary head on me
And there will always be a space in my parking lot
When you need a little coke and sympathyYeah, we all need someone we can dream on
And if you want it, well you can dream on me
Yeah, we all need someone we can cream on
And if you want to, well you can cream on meI was dreaming of a steel guitar engagement
When you drink my health in scented jasmine tea
You knifed me in my dirty filthy basement
With that jaded faded junky nurse
Oh, what pleasant companyWe all need someone we can feed on
And if you want it, well you can feed on me
Take my arm, take my leg
Oh, baby, don’t you take my headWe all need someone we can bleed on
And if you want it, baby, well you can bleed on me
We all need someone we can bleed on
And if you want it, why dont you bleed on meGet it on, rider
Get it on, rider
Get it on, rider
You can bleed all over me.The Rolling Stones ~ Let It Bleed

But just because England got knocked out by cheating johnny foreigners on penalties again, it doesn’t mean we can’t pick ourselves up and struggle on, does it? A nice cup of tea will sort you out. Stiff upper lip and all that. :)

9 July, 2006 at 10:32 pm #229737I missed Owen like life itself. I missed him so much I went a bit constipated. Also, my life nearly collapsed into a dystopian sewer of longing and sorrow. I couldn’t get out of bed for the sheer depth of grief. I’ve been crying myself to sleep every night, well, I say crying; it’s been more of a pathetic whimpering. Days have been going on and on and the nights have just felt so long. Even food doesn’t taste that good and drinking isn’t doing what it should.
That last bit might have been from Bryan Adams’ and Mel Chisholm’s Baby When You’re Gone, though.
