If West Ham play on form, like they have done for most of the season, then I can’t see Manchester City beating them…Nuff said.

Ive had this discussion with my dad, especially when I was learning the stuff for my theory test and hazard perception test, we came to the conclusion he wouldnt have a hope in hells chance of passing the theory, let alone the practical test

The theory can become extremely easy if you take the time to revise it…That is all it is…Revising for it. The hazard perception I failed, so i’m going to go in for it again…I got 35/35 on my theory..I just really hate the hazard!

I agree in that Ronney could well be the best striker in the world in the next few years. Shearer was an outstanding striker though and at his prime he was one of the top 3 strikers in the world.

He was never in the top 3…In opinion, but not in awards….You had Ronaldo, Shevshenko coming up..You had a bundle of tallented strikers who Shearer couldn’t get close too…He was considered OUR best striker in ENGLAND…But never in world football….He went to Newcastle, because no bigger team wanted him..I didnt see barca calling for him, or the Madrids, or the Milans, Juventus….He was never as big as to what people map him out to be..But he WAS good.

LMFAOOO U SAID IT BUT HANG ON DIDNT MAN UTD TRY TO BUY HIM MORE THAN 3 TIMES LMFAOOO BUT HE REFUSED TO B A DIRTY MANC

No….Man United showed INTEREST in him…There is a difference…But it was quite evident that we weren’t going to fork up that kind of money for him(even though we could have).

    So LMFAOOOOOOOO away, dumb ar.se

ps: It’s funny how Morph tries to drop some knowledge on the situation, after someone else already beat him to it…The dummy probably didn’t even know that United showed INTEREST in Shearer, bless him.

Rubbish. Yes he was. He was third in the FIFA World Player of the Year Award.

    @robbo wrote:

    Rubbish. Hitler Youth wanted him.

We went for him about 3-4 years ago, while he was at Newcastle…We showed INTEREST in him..We never ever put in a bid for him, and it only ever came from Shearer….We didn’t want him before he went to Newcastle…If he had the chance to join United(when we was at the top of our peak)..He would have jumped at the chance…

Rubbish. Hitler youth tried to sign him twice before he joined Newcastle. He didn’t want to play for them.

I’m pretty sure it was a record british fee…No, I am sure as I just checked up on it.

I suggest you check again; here, here or here.

He got in the World top 3 once…Well done to him..I hope he feels proud..But people shouldn’t be saying that he was one of the greatest players ever in world football,

The point is, Robbo, that people who know a lot more about football than me or you were saying that about him at the time. You can believe what you want, in the end no one cares, but most people in the game itself disagree with you, evidentially.

 My apologies for implying that you are a common, glory hunting little knobbo.

They’re professionals, Robbo. It’s just the way of the world. It’s a completely different thing to a knobbo choosing to support a team that has nothing to do with them. Are you saying that some players don’t enjoy returning to their spiritual home, though? How about Fowler? Would Gary Neville be truly happy in any other shirt? Why do you find it so hard to believe about Shearer and Newcastle, in the face of all evidence?

Pikey….I’m from Stevenage and half of Stevenage support Arsenal, the other half support Chelsea…And alot of other fans support teams out of their local region. Have they no soul neither? At the end of the day, deal with the fact that about 70 to 80 percent don’t support their local team. People like you, who have no idea about football, just claim that the next person is glory hunting if that person supports Man United, but you are wrong. We got Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham, Newcastle fans, Reading fans…The list goes on…But if you are a United fan…Then idiots like you will always stick to there claims that WE are glory hunting

Deal with it and move on, Pikey….This is the way football has been for over a decade!

As for the pundits saying that Shearer was one of the best players EVER….Well what a load of sh1t….He’s not in Peles league…He’s not in Maradonas league….He’s not even in George Best’s league….And he would never be able to get close to what Ronaldinho has got, and that’s unreal talent…HE will go down as one of the best players ever, but Shearer shouldn’t….He’s not even in the same league as these players…And I could mention alot more players if I wanted too…Maybe he was one of the best talents in the 90s, but certainly not one of the greatest players ever! That is almost laughable!

So, wouldn’t you count Manchester United as a ‘bigger, high profile club’, then? You seem to be under the impression that Newcastle aren’t a ‘big’ club. Now, I have no axe to grind. I don’t support any type of United, but Newcastle paid a world record fee for Shearer. That pretty much makes them a big club at that point in time, I think.

And how is it exactly, Robbo, that you get to be third in the FIFA World Player of the Year Award without being one of the best in the world? At the end of Euro’96 Shearer could’ve played for anyone he wanted. Why do you find it so hard to believe he wanted to play for Newcastle?

Just because you’ve no soul and can’t bring yourself to support a team that has actually got something to do with you, doesn’t mean everyone is like that.

I’m pretty sure it was a record british fee…No, I am sure as I just checked up on it.

Rooney has supported Everton since he was a baby, but he chose to progress with his career and win things. I personally do not believe that he had many options available to him with big profile clubs…Yes, United..But they were not willing to pay more than Newcastle offered…Why do you think Newcastle paid so much to get him in the first place(back then)? No one was willing to fork up that kind of cash, and United were far more richer than Newcastle back then. I don’t think Highly of him and never will…I’m not saying he was average, as he wasn’t, but i’ve never really been a big fan of Shearer.

He got in the World top 3 once…Well done to him..I hope he feels proud..But people shouldn’t be saying that he was one of the greatest players ever in world football, like I saw on teletext last night, as he’s not, and never will be…But he was a great talent in his prime….Just not as good as many pundits label him.

And as for your last little bit….Do grow up….I started supporting United before their huge success…So next time, do try to back your words up and make them a little bit clearer….

By the way, check the amount of players who play for these teams who are not even from our country, let alone from the town….Near enough every premier league team haven’t got a kid who grew up in that town, yet they are representing that team…I guess they have no soul neither

That’s rubbish. Hitler Youth, er, I mean Manchester United tried to get Shearer at least twice before he moved to Newcastle. Check it out here.

I reckon his high watermark was after Euro’96, which he finished as the Golden Boot. He was widely regarded as one the world’s top strikers at that point.

To the biggest profile clubs, he obviously wasn’t…I mean, the man had to opt for a move to Newcastle….Rooney signs for United, and United did all they could to sign him..No one else was willing to do the same with Shearer…If he was one of the worlds greatest strikers, like you pointed out..Then he would have gone to one of the worlds best teams, which it didn’t happen…And don’t give me this, “he wanted to join his home town”, because players like Shearer want to progress and win things, and if a bigger high profile club like Real Madrid came in, you’d be as sure as hell he’d opt for them!

Man Utd were in for him Robbo. They were really keen to get him, but he wanted to go to his hometown team. Dunno if it was the right decision or not.
Certainly he’d have had numerous League Championship medal’s and a Champions League winners medal if he’d went to Utd.

No….We went for him about 3-4 years ago, while he was at Newcastle…We showed INTEREST in him..We never ever put in a bid for him, and it only ever came from Shearer….We didn’t want him before he went to Newcastle…If he had the chance to join United(when we was at the top of our peak)..He would have jumped at the chance…The same with the likes of Barca and Madrid and so on…But no one really showed any concrete interest in him…That is why he ended up at Newcastle and hasn’t won nothing with them. No one was willing to fork up the money for him.

    LMFAO

    GOIN DOWN
    GOIN DOWN
    GOIN DOWN

Rooney is one of the prospects in world football…For United, he plays behind the striker, or right midfield or left, and he is still banging in goals…He does play upfront, but he gets switched around almost in every United game…Shearer will have NOTHING on Rooney…Shearer was a GOOD player, a GOOD talent..But Rooney is an exceptional talent…He is put in with the likes of Henry, Ronaldinho, Zidane, and others alike, because all of them players can change a game with a bit of skill, or an exceptional pass, or an exceptional goal….Putting Shearer in the bracket of Rooney is almost laughable.

They are 2 different players…You are right, but Rooney is still a better player than Shearer, and them reasons above tell you why….When he plays straight upfront..He can bang goals in left right and centre…When he drops back..He is as creative as any player in the world..And you put Shearer in Rooneys bracket? Haha very funny lol.

Van the man is better than Shearer….Shearer has been in the premier league a longggggg time…Please don’t forget that, and it amazes me how he ended up at Newcastle….I guess the great teams weren’t interested lol
