hell yeah upspeak and RP.. I totally talk in my own accent even more now these days as im fed up with it all.. The bemused looks i get ,almost scorn as i chose not to lose my parochialisms and accent. vernacular is part of an Identity too… oh yes !

I had replied earlier to you mims about me having a friend over there, and how he would help out. an ex headteacher and a jolly good soul. I messaged him explaining your dilemma, and near fainted when he reminded me it was Bucharest NOT Budapest he lived !

someone called me “lovely”. a cynical.contrary horror.
As a child i had the worse, strictest teacher. We dreaded getting her,, and i managed it for 2 years. This was back in the Day we got the belt. and she used it,Liberally.

I met her one day at teacher training in the Gardyne.( northern college)

I made out i never noticed “her”..

too late..

she called me “lovely” too.. but she had me mixed up with someone that as a born leader Never got it right..

I let her beleive i was that ” lovely” person.

maybe it WAS me,, after all.
