I think that’s a wise choice indeed!!!
Anyway the scooters are only allowed to do 8 mph on the roads (maximum) and 6.5 mph on pavements (again maximum).
I have this awful picture in my mind that simply won’t go away. It is of a ”Hell’s Grandpa” on his motorised scooter weaving down a crowded pavement, utterly pissed, and waving a bottle of Scotch in his hand whilst shouting obscenities at all the pedestrians as he drives.
He disappears round the corner leaving a trail of chaos in his wake. No doubt this is what happens to ASBO boys when they grow old.
An example of one of the three I know personally. Some sort of tests should be undertaken.
3 January, 2007 at 11:35 pm #254992Make this country less appealing for them to come to thats what can be done.
We are not making any cashflow from immigrants working here. All that is happening is big companies are making money from paying peanuts to people who are willing to work for peanuts.
ths cost of living will catch up with them eventually, but no fear, we will top up what they are earning with benefits.

2 January, 2007 at 11:40 pm #254801Oh I hope your mum is okay, what a nasty thing to happen. I know of three users of these things in our town who regularly drink and then try to navigate either through the town centre on them (after visiting the pub, visiting me at work and abusing me with beer breath) or on the main roads out of the town!
If they are drinnking and doing that sort of thing then they should have them taken away.
I Really hope she recovers fast and you are able to see a lot more of her in her old age.
Dont take the replies to heart…….. you really should not expect any less on here
(Having said that, Dead On Arrival………. thats the only ever post of yours that has actually made me laugh!  )

Well apparently this doggy WAS a pit bull type (as has been confirmed by DNA) so I guess it was illegal to possess it – but it was just a lovable cuddly family woofer.
Its owners have said that it didn’t have an aggressive bone in its body – end of !!
As it was such a nice family pet, and everybody loved it, it must have been provoked in some way. Can’t have been fireworks at 4.00 in the morning. Could it have been burgulars?? Could it have been the little girl’s parents coming home pissed after New Year’s eve parties?? Could the owners have been doing drugs??
These questions need answers.
On form as ever  you been at the left over xmas whiskey by any chance?
Back on course, that family no matter what is thrown at them will suffer a life time of grief, whether any are prosecuted or not. The breeder needs finding and all his stock taken away, there is no way after 15 years since the ban they should be bred.
I bet you any money the Uncle (owner) was just another status symbol hunter, nice dog to make him look bigger/harder round the estate.
2 January, 2007 at 11:27 pm #250709Then again, what about non-televised/unrecorded matches………. sunday league?
You start at the bottom as a player and sadly the majority stay there. You rely on the officials to oversee things. My youngest is 9 and I have witnessed some really embarrasing mistakes on behalf of the officials not to mention the players!
Would it only be televised games, well yes of course it would. Would it make a difference? Youve realy got me thinking it probably wouldnt :(
2 January, 2007 at 11:20 pm #254564Is two years haste though?
2 January, 2007 at 11:19 pm #254770Put the owner down. There is no excuse having these dogs in this country 15 years since they were banned (if it is proved to be an illegal breed that is). And the breeder should also be arrested.
I would still argue that the breed in the right hands could possibly be a good working dog, but only for the Army or appropriate dog handling associations NOT A PET. They are bred as working dogs and need stimulation. In saying that though, not in this country, they are not required. Dont ask me which country I do not know! I just hate the thought of another species of the animal kingdom becoming extinct because of humans.
Poor girl.
