just think when all us smokers finally see sense to quit, and we become a non-smoking Nation, look forward to the rises in TAXES… as where will the Goverment then make their money on the Duty of Cigs…??? plus half the councils will need to re-invest their stakes they have in cig companys…!!! as won’t be of much value soon..!!
It won’t come to that – for every smoker who quits, there’s a dumb teenager somewhere who starts… :roll: :(

12 October, 2006 at 10:25 am #244226I think it’s April next year it is enforced….
We haven’t really had a problem with it up here, no-one has a prob with going outside (mind you, we haven’t had a winter yet since the ban) – it is a bit annoying though when you’re the only person in a group who doesn’t smoke – at times I have found myself sitting on my own while all the smokers nip outside :roll: But it means I get the best seat :lol:
12 October, 2006 at 10:16 am #244161Although I do feel for the person referred to in the original post….does anyone else wonder why it was posted here, as a first post by someone, without any explanation or introduction??
I am confused :? Are we meant to do something?

even more so than our own government hun?
{{hugs squeezy}}
I would say so – they spend so much time dictating to the government about what they should do with all ther campaigns and trying to get people fired. :roll:
We can’t complain about the government – we voted them in. :(

i’ll more likely go through the morgage option, i just don’t like the idea of getting my own place, paying for it, then my girlfriend walking into it, and automatcily getting half of it, i rather not do that
First of all – if you get a mortgage in YOUR name – no girlfriend is entitled to half of your house. (That’s whey when OH and I bought our house, I made sure my name was on the deeds lol)
Scondly – I would go with the mortgage option. £750 is awfully high – especially when you still have bills on top – have you worked out how much the bills would be?
Also – do you have to live there? isn’t there a town not far from there which is a little cheaper to live in?
