The ugly linoleum reminded Rupert of the animal shelter. He recalled the utter hopeless he had felt, but how out of that concrete and wire prison his new philosophy had been born; Catapilism. The dogs, of course, thought it exploitive, but he despised their happy-go- luckiness.
