Dave by turning automatic updates off you’ve just hidden the problem and not actually dealt with it. Your AV updates are out of date and your now vulnerable. These sought of problems dont fix themselves. You should contact symantec for help ok.

28 February, 2005 at 10:04 pm #105777Well you could just link to the media file using the URL tags like below.
http://movies.theshreves.com/gixxerkart_video.wmv
If you want to host your own Media files you need to build a simple website and upload the Media files to your website so you can link to them as i dont know of any Media file host. It may also be worth googling FTP’s.
BTW Check the Video i just posted.
28 February, 2005 at 9:45 pm #105726Neither BB i recommend Sophos.
But out of the two i’d go Avast becuase i think Symantec are useless twáts who cant build an AV prog without being loitered with bugs, errors and faults.
If you’ve ever had Norton, does this sound all too familiar?
“norton antivirus has encountered a problem and needs to close. Please re-install Norton Antivirus”.
28 February, 2005 at 9:36 pm #105724Lol Dave you got it pml (how many attempts did it take?).
On a serious note you really do need to re-install Norton AV the Update Installer has been corrupted/damaged.
If you PM me i can lead you the way to a fully working Norton AV 2005 Proffesional with worm protection prog but you must have a CD burner and Nero.

28 February, 2005 at 8:50 pm #105786Bert im not even going to react to you, your way below me.
Trapps has already given the answer to this problem. Thanks once again for my siggy Morticia.
25 February, 2005 at 4:23 pm #105721lol that ‘little black box’ is DOS. When you d/l an update for say norton AV the update is installed using DOS. And dont even try to capture it on ‘print screen’ pml you got no hope.
To see that ‘little black box’ aka DOS, just type CMD in the run dialouge box.
13 February, 2005 at 10:27 pm #105649Try this link and download the dll make sure you have an av client running just unzip and install http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msnp32
The dll your missing belongs to ‘Network provider for Microsoft-Network’ app.
install it in your system32 directory start>my computer>local disc (c)>windows>system32.
