I believe Roy will take us forward and bring the youngsters on and gel them together so we can be a forced to be reckoned with in the future. I hope the same can happen for all the home nations. And ROI too.

Good character from England tonight. Very well done.
The great positives were that when they went behind and had a few scary moments, they didn’t (like so many England teams in recent years) seem inhibited or reticent to at least attempt to stand up and express themselves in the face of adversity.
I believe Hodgson and Neville have instilled this sense of purpose.
A worrying negative following on from this sense of purpose and attitude though is the lack of aptitude to keep the ball and pass it around a bit. But this will certainly come.
Disastrous setpiece defending was also very surprising.
But hey, like I said, this looks a strong willed outfit with fire in the bellies of the young pretenders in particular.
They should come through the group now, hopefully topping it to avoid Spain.Sgt,
England and Sweden are two very average teams who lack intellect and creativity.
It’s all about the players and ours just didn’t perform tonight.15 June, 2012 at 10:19 pm #498759Well done to 10-man England tonight. Yes, 10-man (Ashley Young was carried throughout the game). There’s no way England will win this tournament though. They can’t pass, run with the ball and keep hold of it either.

Thanks everyone x
(except Tel who’s turning into a right mean old bastard) :twisted:Sorry mate.
The Irish team just aren’t good enough to play international football at the moment and it might be an idea to stick them in League One with Coventry City and Crawley Town for next season.
Having said that, it might be embarrassing (as if tonight wasn’t embarrassing enough..) if they were to get relegated from that league, so maybe it’s not such a good idea after all.
14 June, 2012 at 9:37 pm #499026I doubt whether Spain will ever have a match as easy as that one.

Only a narrow minded fool like you would think Howard Webb was on Man utd’s books.
 Are you going to continue this abuse for much longer?
Oh you must be one of those ‘i’ve got a 3″ penis and I’m not afraid to use it’ internet warriors I’ve read about.
You’re wasting your time with me meathead. Now do yourself a favour and do one.

There all involved because there in a football tournament.Duh . Like the majority of your posts i fail to see what point you’re trying to make .
I’m thinking; internet troll, cyber-bully and (the most obvious….) bandwagon jumper. Which one are you handyman4t4…???
My post may not mean much to you in your rather hasty attempt at belittlement, but it was meant as a humorous aside. You obviously don’t get it (and please take that to include your sex life..). Even though you see your yourself as Wordsworth’s right hand man, I’m sure we all know what your right hand is really for.
Anyway…..
Modric and Balottelli are players, whilst Howard Webb is a referee.
The joke is that Howard Webb is with Manchester United. In fact he’s tprobably heir most important team member.
Oh..and by the way, it’s ‘they’re’ not ‘there’. Just thought I’d point that out.

Prayer Power.
Do you believe in it?
If so, then please clasp your hands tight and plead for the poor souls of the Boys In Green tonight. [-o<
Prayers are one thing; miracles are another.
14 June, 2012 at 5:46 pm #498721Just watching the Italy v Croatia match and noticing that Modric (Tottenham), Balottelli (Manchester City) and Howard Webb (Manchester United) are all involved.
