    That is irrelevant – if the hard drive is damaged, you format however you want and it still would not work.

    Although it sounds like the drive is quite definately dead, the only other thing that springs to mind is that an incorrect addressing mode can cause the same error. Make sure the addressing mode is LBA (as opposed to CHS) in the BIOS.

    I’m listening to “Postman Pat” at top volume in an attempt to make myself look cool to the local kids. I think it’s working, they’re congregating outside my window right now. I can’t hear what they’re shouting above the music, but I bet it’s “That music’s ace buddy!” – Oh, I see they’ve brought alcohol too. And knives. Erm… oh, that must mean they’ve brought me a cake too! Yum! I’m just going to say “Good evening” to the nice chaps.

    I program VB, the best source I’ve found for source :shock: code is http://www.programmersheaven.com. Found that back in my Pascal days…
