27 June, 2008 at 6:21 am #343215so who to win then ?
It really has been a great competition, maybe more enjoyable for the fact that England weren’t there so that we could watch some great football without the nail-biting, pacing floors and kicking family pets. Anyone remember that early Michael Owen goal against the Portugese 4 years ago ? Worst thing that could have happened, it meant that Lampard and Gerrard were just pumping balls upfield from their own penalty box for the rest of the game until we got beat. Or the Keegan side 4 years before that with Phil Neville – these are painful memories !
You have to be impressed with the Spanish midfield – Xavi, Iniesta and of course Cesc who I’m so proud of. He plays and conducts himself with such maturity. They could have a field day with those static German centrebacks who do seem to ship goals.
But I’ve also liked Schweinsteiger right from the start, and Podolski is a major tournament player of course.
Looking at the JC pundits, it seems that Bad Manners and Sharon have predicted Spain, while myself and kev/dagger had mentioned Germany on another thread. Well done us…..
: o )I’m staying with Germany, Ballack to turn it on but there will be a Torres goal at some point.

My question isn’t about what colour players or managers should be.
“Brendon Batson says 2% of managers is disproportionate”
your thread title (which you put in black-speak) isn’t about the colour of managers huh….
so we talking bodily proportions then ?

I am banned from the majority of supermarkets here for buying up all their bananas.
Minim, don’t get me wrong, I also enjoy bananas, but am nowhere near your stature. I’d say the most I’ve ever eaten in a day would be about……..somewhere around the one mark. So you would appear to be a great person to ask the following questions….
Which end do you peel the banana from ? I notice that most seem to peel from the end with the stem sticking out. But don’t you find that quite often the stem just splits instead of uncovering a neat section, or even breaks off completely if the banana is too ripe. This method does give me lots of problems. Even if one was to use a knife, it is hardly doable when on the go. I prefer to peel from the other end, what I call the “top”. I have experimented with just breaking them in half, but then have to cope with latent feelings of violence, plus of course it doesn’t work anyway if the banana is too ripe. Now monkeys eat in exactly the same way as my preferred manner, and I definitely consider THEM to be the experts. Most people reading this will be especially excited now they know that monkeys do it this way, after all, who doesn’t want to be natural. But there could be physiological differences between our species that make some other method more optimal for humans. So I am very curious as to how you eat YOUR bananas, being an expert who is also a person.
26 June, 2008 at 6:18 pm #350676I’d say…..averagely secure.
so, will there be any further questions ?
