Well the one thing that has been proven is that the best teams are the ones who, well . . . . play like proper teams.

If you ever get the ball off Spain then expect to be surrounded by 4 of their well-rehearsed and hard working players immediately closing you down. It’s no good being like Argentina and appointing a mascot/national icon as manager, in the modern game you need to have a plan. And that plan needs to be made 10 years ago if the stats about UEFA qualified coaches are to be believed.

Brazil had a mad half-hour against the Dutch and paid for it severely. John Terry’s very public chest-thumping was simply embarrassing, New Zealand over-performed and Ghana proved the benefit in having a settled manager with time to get things right, unlike the superbly talented Ivory Coast and their very late managerial appointment in Sven.

If you want to win the World Cup then some professional people need resources and time. If England could add their traditional qualities to a modern system then we’d be sensational, but it will never happen with so many conflicting interests and power plays going on right now. The most influential person in our national game is a very poor ex-chairman of Sheffield Wednesday.

The main thing is . . . . . .an Arsenal player will be clutching a World Cup Winner’s medal on Sunday night.

I appreciate that most of, or some of, the posters here enjoy a good old ruck and row, hell even I do… but seems to me recently that it`s all getting a tad too personal.

    Seems full of vitriol now.

    omg you’re so right.
I’m so angry about it all I nearly went out and bought the Daily Mail.

When I really lose it I splash out on the Sunday version with the colour supplements, interesting recipes, gossip about Katie Moss, and excellent weight-watching tips.
But that’s only when you can literally see the steam rising off my inflamed and tormented brow, fank fook.

    I’m just around the corner and two doors down . . . . . . . . . from posting a sentence that includes the words ‘Get’, ‘A’ and ‘Life’ .

heavy thighs and deeper sighs deserve their own thread too.

    :D

The most welcoming of chatters I ever saw, anywhere on any board ever, was sharongooner.
If you posted a true fraction of your true self between the lines then the girl in the leather trousers would respond and make you feel welcome, and somehow worthwhile and valuable to this very faceless community.

The whole tone of a JC post nowadays appears to be concomittant upon the smiley selected to punctuate, and that is very sad when it’s the actual words that only matter.

Now and then I see remarks about the ‘great JC cull’ of October 2008, when all the so-called troublemakers were banned, but even then there existed a very great pissing-off . . . .. . . . (whisper it carefully spangly siggy-seekers) . . . . . .. . . about Pete’s spamming on every thread at that time.

    Lots were very glad to leave . . . . . .

    . . . . and I haven’t even started on Ugo . . . . .

It’s incredibly boring to log on these days !! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are admin ? You seem to have the one eternally depressive siggy-making spammer and then the other raghead child, forever laughing at his own insipid jokes.

Would be nice to see some real input.
    I’m actually missing the nut job now . . . . . . . .
