Oh dear, so youre insecure too then Johnny?
Who’d have thought such a simple addition to text could say SOOOOOOOOO much about the person eh?
I wonder what 8===o ~~~~ :P says then? :lol:
People diverting a topic away from the actual subject is commonplace tho, either because the topic itself flaps about through several related (in some way or other) topics or when someone doesnt or cant actually debate and flounders with anything but touchy feely “me too” type “discussions”
Each has its own merit and entertainment value tho
12 May, 2007 at 9:49 pm #269865“insecure people need emoticons
just incase anyone may think ill of their opinion
an emoticon is a get out clause
dont worry about it
the damage is done
only the real morons will see otherwise”LOL. now I’ve heard it all
Thank god the world isnt quite as two dimensional and people arent quite as vaccuous as you need them to be to fit into your little sweeping stereotypical pigeon holes
What you DO find is that people also plaster light hearted upbeat chats with emoticons, mushy or even debauched chats too. Emoticons are named that for a reason, theyre to show, exagerate or even ironically satire an emotion. To add a bit of dimension to the plain written word
What youre on about is actually far easier to see, its when someone tentatively posts an opposing view but craves acceptance, so they plaster the end of the post with happy emoticons to try to not be disliked if someone doesnt totally agree with what they have written, but you tend to find those type of emotionally dysfunctional messes on dating sites mostly
I’m guessing you dont use emoticons that much, so perhaps they WOULD signify that to you when its YOU using them, that has absolutely no bearing whatsoever when someone else uses them and only an arogant self absorbed type of moron would assume that absolutely anything whatsoever applies to uniformly to everyone, people are far more diverse than that and people who communicate a lot by text use emoticons as a second nature thing the same way someone would wink or smile in person, infact they are to signify those exact same things oddly enough
On the bright side tho, the level of acuracy of your eroneous extrapolations is constantly bad at least lol  <<< Heck
Oh dear
Anyway, with an ass like that who even notices the emoticons?
12 May, 2007 at 7:19 pm #269860I’ll just pop out and buy a tighter fitting truss then Dr Rott lol
12 May, 2007 at 6:38 pm #269858Well it would be a bit boring if everyone agreed lol
Infact its mroe interesting when people who ostensively DO agree but dont even realise it bump heads
Oh and rott, not agreeing with YOUR views isnt ignorance as much as I am sure you are convinced youre always right about everything
Its called a different perspective dear
12 May, 2007 at 6:34 pm #269857So I guess you cant show what you claimed either then eh ROTT?
Not a bad attempt at sidestepping admitting you cant back it up with some facts tho, few more years and you will have it down just perfect lol
What is it with this place, dont people normally respond to whollly innacurate accusations and deluded drivel as a rule so people think they can just spout the drivel without having to worry about backing up their claims? Oh dear lol
As for having “shown myself” (oh boy I’m a flasher too now hehe), you will be seeing what you need to see in what I write in order to make your assumptions feel valid
And the fact that you arent even bothered about context or contextual interpretation shows that quite clearly. You dont “know me”, infact you dont even want to try to understand any of the actual meanings of anything I’ve written because you think you can sum up an entire person on the basis of very little but I wont bore you with the psychological problems with single ended interpretation as I am sure your relationships already highlight that problem more than adequately, although you wouldnt know that because obviously youre always right innit haha
12 May, 2007 at 6:25 pm #269855So in otherwords you cant show me the hypocrisy then lol
Anyway, the relationship is over now, PATS arse looks far better than yours
Soz an all that
12 May, 2007 at 6:21 pm #269851Well I will say yes to that IF, and its a very very big IF you can show me exactly where I said it was the FIRST thing I thought of ROTT
The thing about trying to use eastenderish levels of dramatisation in text is they look a bit flimsy when they have absolutely no relevance whatsoever to whats ACTUALLY been written especially when its still there on the screen to be compared to whats being claimed was said
So, if you dont mind how about pointing out the time of the post and the paragraph where I said that eh?
12 May, 2007 at 6:19 pm #269850Actually, after re reading your post I’m even more confuddlicated Johhny
Cant you see that the actual instance is one thing and the general topic (child abduction/paedophillia) is linked but not the exact same actual thing?
And hypocrisy is saying you wouldnt do something then doing the complete opposite, I dont recall ever saying I wouldnt joke about anything at all, infact I dont think there IS anything I wont find or look for the humour in
I also didnt say that I WOULDNT call piss poor parents piss poor parents either
And as there isnt some universal law that says the ONLY choices that are available are to humourlessly call people piss poor parents or jokingly hug them till their heads fall off I am at a complete loss to see where the hypocrisy is really so I am hoping you can elaborate and show where I have said I wouldnt do something and then did it coz its got me beat
12 May, 2007 at 6:12 pm #269848People joke about cancer everyday, whats more present than that? Infact even people WITH cancer joke about it
Infact i know someone who has devoted her entire life to fighting to stop certain forms of racism and yet she absolutely loves racist jokes of any ilk, a lecturer I was banging from a northern college a few years back was a hard line feminist, but only ever told sexist jokes
Seeing a topic as serious AND being able to interjectin or see humour in it is only out of the grasp of quite two dimensional people across the board or because to THEM that particular topic isnt one they can joke about
But every single joke in existence pretty much is at someones expense, so the jokes those people DO find funny probably annoy someone somewhere as much as they proport to be annoyed on their chosen topics of straightfacedness
So unless humour is going to be completely outlawed it has to be accepted its an individual thing with no right or wrong as is shown by how different cultures and different people hand death and other miserable topics in general
Some think such things are solemn serious affairs, others thing otherwise. Niether is right or wrong, they might arrogantly think they are but that means nothing
Its just different outlooks and in this case different sense of humour
Simple as
12 May, 2007 at 5:45 pm #269846Oh yeah one last point Johhny, someone cant “take” the moral highground, they can only state their opinion and why they disagree with yours
You can however CHOOSE to feel they are doing something else, or feel they are taking some elevated stance but thats your own perception and not in anyway an actual factual tangible thing, merely your own psychological wranglings and your reaction to anything but bland agreement
Its an innalienable right to choose to feel oppressed, bullied, attacked, personally insulted and a whole host of things you might choose to feel when someone doesnt agree with you. But they are simply stating their case, youre the one choosing how to feel in response to it and a different person would feel totally differently
One persons aggressive debater will be a timid shrew to someone else, each person has their own turn of phrase, style of putting a point and their own ways of reacting or feeling about each tone, style of prose or approach but the reaction doesnt define the action, merely the person who is reacting
