Is it? Why would you want to add people you don’t know at all on?
Scenario: a real life friend has a friend whose interests are very similar to your own. When you both comment on your friend’s status, you seem to be of a like mind and you banter on your friend’s wall. So you take the plunge and send a friend request to someone you don’t know but think you could get on well with.
So what is wrong with that? Other than it isn’t face to face, how is it any different to meeting a friend of a friend at the pub or wherever, then exchanging numbers at the end of the night? At least in fb you can reject a friends request without having to make excuses for why you don’t really want to have them as a friend!
As I’ve already said though, I do operate 2 accounts, one for my real life friends and one for jc people, and never the twain shall meet.
I agree with you, but at least with your senario you have made some form of contact before inviting and it is for the right reasons.
What anc describes is just wierd and sounds like just snooping about in the hope for a bit of gossip to be used against her at some point. Quite pathetic if true.
