Parting wordsTis with heavy heart
That I leave thee
Will thee wait for me
That I may return triumphant
Thus lay to thee my trophy
Pray for me as I do battle
For I know not where it may end
I pledge to thee my heart and soul
Till we meet again my sweet
God willing I will return with great haste
To thee my sweet adorable wench
That we may lay together
Hence bare fruit of each other
Tis this that will see me through
Till I return thenby William A Edge

GRADUATION DAYSusie (Pinkpeeps)
It’s graduation day
And I feel so proud
That’s my Daughter there
I want to shout out loud
But I do not
Instead I settle down
How fitting she looks
In her cap and gown
As her name is called
A lump forms in my throat
A tear rolls down my cheek
I fiddle with my coat
That’s my little girl
She’s achieved what I could not
I feel so ecstatic
What a wonderful daughter I’ve got
At last I am at ease
I can clap and cheer
Theres such an ovation
I shed another tear
Now I can shout
That’s my pride and joy
Look forward to the day
When I can cheer my little boy
The pictures are taken
They will take pride of place
So when she’s fled the nest
I can see her face
Now I can take her home
I’ll give her such a treat
Then I can relive the day
When I put up my feetby William A Edge

Why Wish SoA sillyism
I wish I was a fly on the wall
WHY?
Fly’s don’t live long
they usualy get squased
so that’s not very cleverWhy not wish you were a clock on my wall
Its kept well oiled
has a good ticker
and will possibly last foreverI wish I was in your shoes
WHY?
They’re a different size
my feet sweat
and they’re not genuine leatherWhy not wish you were in my house
Its all mod cons
the mortgage is paid
and its shielded from the weatherby William A Edge

UnpoeticI sit here absent minded
just staring at my cup
Trying to work out
why my poetry dried up
I can still remember
once there was a time
When everything I thought about
turned into a rhymne
With pen in hand I’m willing
but don’t know what to write
This is the situation
from morning until night
Please be patient with me
I’ll give it my best shot
I need some inspiration
but it’s what I havn’t gotby William A Edge

SHEHer eyes sparkle
as stars in a clear night sky
Yet I can not see themHer hair shines as silk
under the moonlight
Though I can not touch itHer lips are like
strawberries and cream
But I can not taste themShe has such a glow
and aura about her
Least I can not smell her scentHer words speak volumes
Alas I can not hear themShe is so warm and cuddly
But I can not hug herWe are so far apart
Six thousand miles
Across the atlantic pondWe may never meet
But I feel I know herby William A Edge

A FriendSomeone who tells the truth
even though you don’t want to hear
They say how it is
even if this forms a tearThey speak to you each day
if only to say hello
They can read your signals
when its time for them to goThey consider your feelings
by trying not to impose
They notice your hair
and the style of your clothe’sThey will not build you up
when it’s not due
When others run you down
they’ll see you throughIf your really crap
a shoulder they’ll lend
That’s when you know
you have a friendBy William A Edge

Weekend BikerSay what you like
When I’m on my bike
I couldn’t give a damnWith the wind in my face
I’ll pick up the pace
And I won’t get caught in a jamWhen I’m on the straight
The feeling is great
Leaving the city behindWithout a care
Take in the fresh air
A wonderful way to unwindAs I reach the bend
A thrill it will send
To the hairs on the back of my neckAs I lean to the kerb
Careful not to swerve
Keeping my balance in checkWhen I reach my street
I’ll put up my feet
With a glass of my favorite blendThen all through the week
My engine I’ll tweak
Ready for next weekendBy William A Edge

FELICITY PRINGLEThere’s a girl in our village
Felicity Pringle
She’s so plain and boring
she will remain singleThe girls all giggle
when she pass’es by
The boy’s never date her
they don’t even tryThen into the village
a new family came
Mr and Mrs Dawkins
and their son named ShaneNow Shane was a biker
each day could be seen
Riding with pride
his mean machineThe girls all dreamed
of riding pillion some day
They waved and hooted
when he came their wayOne day by the green
was an terrible sound
One almighty bang
Shane’s engine broke downHe stood by the road side
scratching his head
What’s wrong with your bike
Felicity saidI don’t know he said
I have not a clue
My engine won’t run
I don’t know what to doFelicity from her bag
produced some tools
And over his engine
began to droolHalf hour later
all covered in oil
She looked up at Shane
with a knowing smileYou’ll be OK now
take it for a spin
Will you come too
Shane said with a grinNow she rides pillion
in all sorts of weather
And looks very fetching
all dressed in leatherFelicity’s the envy
of all the girls sigh’s
She also the desire
of all of the boy’sBy William A Edge

Whats Wrong With UsWhats wrong with society
People still living in poverty
Religious leaders preach of bad and good
But are they really understood
If you think of times before
Religion is blamed for each war
So black,white,yellow or brown
Lets not put each other down
Dark,fair,brunette or blond
we all came from the same pond
In Africa it all began
Fish,reptiles,birds animal,man
Nomadic tribes near and far did roam
Settled where they set up home
The years passed by,the world revolved
Thus to their climate they evolved
So if you see someone who’s not the same
They may have a strange sounding name
But open your heart and eye’s real wide
You’ll find we’re all the same insideWilliam Arthur Edge
