I spotted this online this-morning and just HAD to share it with you.
A pig that survived 36 days buried in the rubble of May’s massive Sichuan earthquake has been voted China’s favourite animal, but the attention has made him fat, lazy and bad-tempered, state media said.
The pig, trapped in a sty after the 7.9 magnitude quake, was bought by a local businessman who was moved by its ordeal and named “Zhu Jianqiang,” or “Strong Pig.”
It survived by eating charcoal and drinking rainwater.
Now it has been voted top of an online poll of animals “who moved China” this year, the weekend edition of the China Daily said.
People come from all over to see the pig at its new home in a museum, but it was becoming increasingly spoiled and ungrateful.
“It’s gotten fatter and lazier by the day.” “We used to take it out for a walk every morning and afternoon, but it’s too lazy — and too fat — to do it.”
And the pig is getting fed up with visitors, after initially being quite friendly.
“Now it just blocks the door to its bedroom when there are too many visitors outside. It’s been increasingly difficult for us to convince it to open the door,” the report said.
Doesn’t this sound familiar eh? There must be loads of fat pigs out there that block the door to their bedroom when they get grumpy. I can think of a few that I’ve known over time ……. can you think of any???
Who the hell does this pig think he is? Ungrateful so and so.. It’s a pig, but sounds like your average teenager.. Tell him, there’s people who have been through a lot worse, and do you here them grunting? (Apart from during Intercourse when they’ve worked all day).. Tell the bl oody thing that if it doesn’t change it’s attitude, then Christmas is coming, he could always be used for his meat.. (What the girls say about me).. I’m sure the Homeless would kill for a bit of Bacon this up and coming Christmas Morning..
And this bit.. “It’s gotten fatter and lazier by the day.” “We used to take it out for a walk every morning and afternoon, but it’s too lazy — and too fat — to do it.”
Sounds like your average Birmingham housewife critiscising her Chav husband on The Jeremy Kyle Show..
People come from all over to see this pig.. Jeez.. I have a dog that can walk backwards whilst reciting the lords prayer, and even Viz weren’t interested in that story!!

I hadn’t really noticed Big Issue sellers becoming largely foreign and have certainly never come across any rude sellers.
I always like to buy a copy of the Big Issue when it is offered – I admire the fact that the people selling it are actually trying to work their way out of their situation rather than sit on a street corner and beg.
I think that in itself deserves our support.
Me niether, not noticed a lot of foreign Big Issue sellers, then again, i suppose it depends on the town in which you live in. Niether have i found any of them rude. Actually, if anything, and more often than not! they’re quite polite..
If i can, i give the pound, and tell them to keep the Magazine to sell to someone else.. Reason being, they’re standing there in the cold all day, they could get themselves a hot drink or Pasty.

Well said Dawny..
And when it comes to your kids, I hate that when other people seem to think that it’s their business to take over… It’s the parents decision as to whether the child should know something or not!
