Scot Clara Meadmore, who has just celebrated her 105th birthday, is proud to have remained a virgin all her life.

She said platonic relationships were important to her and she loved the company of friends and her cats.
Glasgow-born Clara is now residing in a care home in Cornwall – but lived on her own until January this year.
Clara mowed her own lawn until the age of 97, still has her own hair and teeth, and has only been into hospital once, for a cataract operation.
Clara now lives in the Perran Bay nursing home in Perranporth and staff say she’s much loved for her chatty nature, remarkable memories and sharp wit.

Which gets me thinking: If you could be offered not only longevity – but eternal life – on the premise that it would be lived in celibacy – would you take up the offer?
You can still love and be loved – just no sexual congress.

I’d rather a life of sex.. (Not just sex by the way), it’s great to do other things, like get up for a quick cigarette.

Wouldn’t it be a bit of a b ummer to opt for a life of celibacy in order to live a longer life, but then die halfway through.

She still had her own teeth, mowed the lawn until the ripe old age of Ninety Seven, only attended hospital once.. Jeez, we’re either dealing with SuperGran here, or the female version of Jesus Christ!!
