Come on United, City are all rubbish!!!!

Well hello there comrades, it’s wonderful to have a Chap’s Palace where chaps can be chaps.

Remember it’s Movember, and your top lip growth should be unfettered so that chaps can bring themselves to use the word ‘testicular’ in front of strangers. That includes you Panda.

The brandy is wonderful and I think my freshly polished mahogany looks rather sumptuous in the firelight.

Now, I do believe a certain chatter promised me tea and cake on demand, and promised to wear a French Maid’s outfit while serving it . . . . .

Uncreases newspaper and harumphs at the state of the world . . . .

“Political Correctness” as a term is another term that could do with some definition. Many claim to be able to say when it has ‘gone too far’, but few, if any, ever indicate where the line is that has been crossed.

“Lord wordsworth..please tell us how we can be like you and achieve your righteousness”

The followers gathered there gaze up in wondrous admiration at their learned leader….

Yes, but I’m not allowed to be sarcastic anymore or it will upset PC Kenty. #-o

That’s only because yer not very good at it

    Hogwash. It was painted with one of these;

If an identical painting was painted with a brush, you’d like it?

    So true.

Terry is right, the best use of this thread is to have a pop at each other with no reference to Tintin.

I’ve seen some of the block paintings, they’re huge and really can’t be assessed just from a postage sized image on a screen.

In the context the impact on me was profound. It helped that I was with someone who explained something about their original context and meaning.

Interesting comments about Toybulldog, Always fascinating to see apparently age old conflicts played out here. Granted I’ve met Flipper and her absence would probably leave me a bit discomfited if I was used to her being around. Not sure how it would affect my views on art.

Not sure how his non-homosexuality was verified or what the virtues are of stiff wrists, but props to Terry for trying it on.

Not sure why being called homosexual is a smear unless you’re very bad at being homosexual. (I used to be a practising homosexual, but now I’m good at it, I just keep my hand in)

Anyway, there’s art and there’s the art business.

Next time your 7 year old creates a huge canvas painting, make sure you’re holding the ladder steady and and find out they got the money for the canvas.

Rothko’s block works actually made sense to me up close, explained and presented in what I presume was an appropriate context, although they were not in any of the large restaurants for which I understand they were created.

Would I spend millions on it? Dunno, never had millions to spend on anything, so they’re not after impressing me anyway. When millions are spent on art, cars or property, it’s about investment value, so it’s all illusory anyway.
