A painting by abstract artist Mark Rothko has fetched $75.1 million (£47.2m) at an auction in New York.
Rothko’s No 1 (Royal Red and Blue), described by Sotheby’s as “a seminal, large-scale masterpiece”, was the subject of a heated bidding war.

i dont get it
my 4 yr ol nephew could do better than that
and he wouldnt leave gaps
might smudge it a bit
but i think thats why the artist was scared
in case the colours runand my nephew wouldnt want paying.
well maybe a milkshake and a coupla choccy biccies.
