My cathedral has all but burned down
This is awful.
I was 24 when i first sat on the walls opposite the main door, transfixed by the grandeour of the cathedral.
And now it’s all but ogne.
Can’t believe it.
So so sad to watch it last night.
A beautiful piece of architecture and history. Have spent many an hour wandering around Notre Dame. Hope they manage to rebuild successfully.

I’m glad someone else had a similar reaction to the fire. I was really upset to watch this fire last night
Notre Dame is the heart of Paris to many. My visits were always centred on Notre Dame, and the islands around it.Christians are particularly affected by it, but you don’t need to be Christian; just someone who appreciates beauty. The magnificent Gothic architecture is a real symbol of European civilisation.
The roof and medieval woodwork are gone, but thank God that the priceless stained glass windows have survived, along with the the art treasures and the stone structure.

Thing is about buildings, ..it’s all about the value people put on them…..Buildings…in my opinion are like dogs and other animals. People get all whooshy when a fire devastates or a dog dies but when a human dies they turn a blind eye….
Was the hunch back based on a real person or just made up ’cause he was after the belles?….LMAO RATF PML
