I see that the two favourites for the Tour de France have been banned for drug offences. Is anyone surprised? After Robert Millar and others have come out and admitted that EVERY professional rider is on some sort of illegal drug programme, should we not just let them get on with it and focus testing on amateur sports? Who really cares about the cyclists or the sprinters or the weightlifters or the swimmers etc being caught taking drugs – we know they all do it and they must continue to do it or they will never reach the top so why pretend otherwise? Let them get on with it and those who get their jollies from watching muscled monsters competing against each other will still be able to have their fun, whilst the rest of us can turn our attention elsewhere to ‘clean’ or amateur sports.

Perhaps the professionals should be allowed to take vitually any muscle building drug they want (ok I accept there must be some restrictions) as long as they give samples of the drugs to the relevant sports bodies so that tests can be developed to catch amateur cheats. I don’t watch the athletic events at the Olympics anymore because I assume they are all cheating. I have no idea who holds the World records for any of the track and field events but I assume their performances were all achieved through illegal use of drugs. This viewpoint is clearly unfair on ‘clean’ competitors but I am afraid that, like cyclists, they are all tarred with the same brush in my eyes. Would the Olympic Games be harmed or enhanced if they returned to the days of banning all professional athletes from competing?

James ole friend hope you are keeping well,  as what I have to say might knock you back a bit, and I know you’ve been having a hard time lately with the bankruptcy stuff, so embrace yourself please, I feel it’s only morally correct that I inform you to have yourself checked as you were one of kays ( kentys ) sinister sordid little secrets from her husband and ole bob ( thick slice ) you need to get checked for hiv immediately please  :good:

    Good Luck James  ;-)
