Billy Bear #1 ( Billys first day at school)

    Billy’s first day at school
    Wasn’t to grand
    No flags or banners
    No big brass band

Just a lot of other cubs
    Just like he
    Wondering what
    This school thing could be

    Out came a lady bear
    ” I’m Mrs. Tagrin,
    Cubs form a line
    And quietly walk in “

    Mommy waved to
    Billy bye bye
    But Billy got scared
    Began to cry

    Mrs. Tagrin
    Said with a smile
    ” Don’t worry Billy,
Mom can stay for a while “

    Then along with the help
    Of Mrs. Tagrin
    The cubs said a prayer
    Then sang a Hymn

    Billy then began
    To model with care
    He had forgot
    His Mom was there

    She looked on with pride
    And shed a tear
    ” I’m sorry Mommy,
    Are you still here “

Mom said ” I’m off then,
    See you at three,
    If your really good.
It’s your Favorite for tea “

    Then they had milk
    And went out to play
    ” Not for long “
    Mrs. Tagrin did say

    ” Come along cubs,
    It’s time to come in,
    I’ll read you a story “
    She said with a grin

    It was a story of
    Queens and Kings
    Treasure of gold
    And diamond rings

    It’s time for lunch
    Potatoes,cabbage and beef
    With honey for after
    Phew that’s a relief

    Then Mrs. Tagrin said
    ” Come cubs follow me,
    We are going to do
    the alphabet A B C “

    Then they had orange
    And went out to play
” But not for long “
    Mrs. Tagrin did say

    ” Now come along cubs,
    Please follow me,
    We’ll sing some songs,
Before you go home for tea “

    ” Hurrah ! there’s the bell,
    It’s home time,
    Look there’s your Mommy
    And here is mine “

    Mommy was pleased
    When he said A B C
    ” Well done Billy,
I’ve your favorite fish for tea “

” Then you can tell me,
    More about today,
    When you’ve had your tea
And some time to play “

    ” Bath time Billy “
    Mommy said
    ” Then I’ll tuck you
    Nicely into bed “

    Billy wanted to do
    A B C once more
    “Very well but then
You must go to sleep for sure “

    ” R is for rainbow,
    S is for sheep,
    T is for YAWN ! “
    Billy’s fell fast asleep

    It Hurts

    People write poems and prayers
    For those whom are unwell
But no mention of their carers
    Who need support as well

It is easy to be negative
    Less presure to display
    Its harder to be Positive
    This many do allay

    People can be careless
    When feelings they display
    Who cares for the carers
    This many do allay

    I feel so very hurt
For those who do miss out
Be genuine and share your love
    Thats what its all about

    No Gun Law

Why do you carry that gun?
    Pray tell me why
Is it because you enjoy the thought
    of watching someone die

Why do you carry that gun?
Doe’s it make you feel brave?
Or do you enjoy the thought
Of sending someone to their grave

Why do you carry that gun?
    Or even that knife
Is it because you enjoy the thought
    Of taking someone’s life

Why do you carry that gun?
The only ones who could say
Were those who shoot at targets
    Or pigeons made of clay

    Some say it’s for protection
    But that’s a lame excuse
For if no one carried one
They would be of little use

    Some shoot defenceless animals
I believe that is so cruel
I implore you each and everyone
    Please don’t let gun’s rule

    Billy Bear #2 (Making Friends)

    A new girl cub
    Started school today
    She has come from
    A land very far away

    Billy likes her
    She’s charming and polite
    Her name is Wendy
And her fur is all white

    But some of the cubs
    Aren’t so pleased
    Wendy is bullied
    About her color she’s teased

All the cubs are brown or black
But Wendy’s from a different land
Some of the cubs are prejudice
    Of what they can’t understand

    Billy Defends her
But is pushed to the floor
    As Billy gets up
    Wendy pleads for no more

    The bell goes
    End of play time
    The cubs quickly
    Form a straight line

There is blood on Billy’s fur
    From a bad graze
    “What’s wrong Billy “
    Mrs. Tagrin says

    ” It’s nothing Miss
I fell when playing tig “
    Mrs. Tagrin cleaned his wound
    But suspected a fib

    After school Billy and Wendy
    Were allowed out to play
    They saw the cubs
    Who had bullied them today

They were climbing a lamp post
    Showing off that’s all
    When one of them
    Took an almighty fall

    His chums ran away
    And left poor Jake
Wendy said ” CALL AN AMBULANCE BILLY,
    I think its a break “

    She comforted Jake
    He did not understand
    Why should a white cub
    Hold a black cubs hand

    It was not a break
    Just a bad strain
    But Jake wanted to see
    Wendy and Billy again

    He said he was sorry
For the bullying and wanted to mend
Please he said to Wendy and Billy
    ” CAN I BE YOUR FRIEND “

    What a lovely picture
    What a nice sight
    Three cub friends
    Brown,Black and White

    Be a Sportsman

It’s good to take part in sport
    you know
    No matter how results
    may go
    So please take heed
    just get wise
    So many contenders
    but only one prize
    You may be heckled
    by the fan’s
    But where would we be
    without also ran’s
    The point I am making
    must not be missed
    No one to contend
    if you get my gist
    So do your best
    play the game
    Then somebody somewhere
    will remember your name

    Felicity Pringle

There’s a girl in our village
    Felicity Pringle
    She’s so plain and boring
    she will remain single

    The girls all giggle
    when she pass’es by
    The boy’s never date her
    they don’t even try

    Then into the village
    a new family came
    Mr and Mrs Dawkins
    and their son named Shane

    Now Shane was a biker
    each day could be seen
    Riding with pride
    his mean machine

    The girls all dreamed
    of riding pillion some day
    They waved and hooted
    when he came their way

    One day by the green
    was a terrible sound
    One almighty bang
    Shane’s engine broke down

He stood by the road side
    scratching his head
    What’s wrong with your bike
    Felicity said

    I don’t know he said
    I have not a clue
    My engine won’t run
I don’t know what to do

    Felicity from her bag
    produced some tools
    And over his engine
    began to drool

    Half hour later
    all covered in oil
    She looked up at Shane
    with a knowing smile

    You’ll be OK now
    take it for a spin
    Will you come too
    Shane said with a grin

    Now she rides pillion
    in all sorts of weather
    And looks very fetching
    all dressed in leather

    Felicity’s the envy
    of all the girls sigh’s
    She also the desire
    of all of the boy’s

    The Squirrel

    From branch to branch
    from tree to tree
    I am amazed
    at the agility

    Then scurry along
    the top of fence
    With grace and balance
    of great sense

    Skip across
    the washing line
    Not a worry
    he’ll be fine

    Jump down
    to gable end wall
    With no fear
    he will not fall

    Across the grass
    avoiding ruts
    To the place where
    he stored his nuts

    On hind legs
    he’ll nibble and gnaw
    Then forage round
    to look for more

    Week End Biker

    Say what you like
    When I’m on my bike
    I couldn’t give a damn

With the wind in my face
    I’ll pick up the pace
And I won’t get caught in a jam

    When I’m on the straight
    The feeling is great
    Leaving the city behind

    Without a care
    Take in the fresh air
    A wonderful way to unwind

    As I reach the bend
    A thrill it will send
To the hairs on the back of my neck

As I lean to the kerb
    Careful not to swerve
    Keeping my balance in check

    When I reach my street
    I’ll put up my feet
With a glass of my favorite blend

    Then all through the week
    My engine I’ll tweak
    Ready for next week end

    A Friend

    Someone who tells the truth
even though you don’t want to hear
    They say how it is
even if this forms a tear

They speak to you each day
    if only to say hello
    They can read your signals
when its time for them to go

    They consider your feelings
    by trying not to impose
    They notice your hair
and the style of your clothe’s

They will not build you up
    when it’s not due
    When others run you down
    they’ll see you through

    They’ll recognise your beauty
    though it’s hidden inside
    Through thick and thin
    they’ll stand by your side

    If your really crap
    a shoulder they’ll lend
    That’s when you know
    you have a friend
