I guess no one looked at the article then…

I think that this is more a cultural thing than anything else. We have some German friends and they thought it perfectly natural to do so in public. Personally I tend to think it is something done in private.

When I opened the article I thought you were referring to the opening picture which I thought was OK and a natural image of a mother breastfeeding her baby. It wasn’t until I read further that I came across the pic you are referring to jen and I have to say I found it distasteful….. I’m printing it here so peeps and agree or disagree.

My main concerns about feeding until this age is there seems to be very little research into the psychological effects on the child…for instance does it create an unnatural dependency on the mother and inhibit the child’s development?….have to admit I agree with one of the comments in the article that the pic is unmotherly… as if she is just a dispensing machine and proud of it!

Overall I think the child is too old to be breast fed…. but I agree that its up to the mother… I would like to see some in depth research though so mothers could make decisions based on evidence on how long they decide to breast feed.

I found the picture to be rather gross. Indecent even.

I was wondering @ what age does this child need to reach before it is considered sex abuse.

    anc

I breast-fed my two up until they were 4 months old.

Yes, I did so, in public, but I wore baggy t-shirts, so no-one could see anything!

I had to go to hospital with my eldest, was breast-feeding my youngest in the pediatric ward, and got asked to move to a different room so no-one could see?!!!! ffs, yes, I agree that wopping ya boobies out in public can make peeps uncomfortable, but, not in a friggin children’s part of a hospital!
