wow ange,anyway my tip of a bedding plant this year is mimulus aka monkey plant best utilised on bare patches cos they spread for fun.
Dont buy tomato seeds, buy a pack of your favourite tomatoes, keep one aside, slice the reserved tomato and plant the slices on top of compost then put a light sprinkle on top, i showed my sons girls how to do this last year and they had fresh tomatoes well into october!

Back on topic …. Sweet peas . (My favorite flower btw)
My gran used to just chuck the seeds in the ground near the trelis & she grew the best Sweet Peas for miles around.
Sadly I didnt inherit her gardening ability …. Mine dont come to anything & thats grown from seedling.

Why? well arc sweet peas are very frail some might say fragile best of putti ng them in hanging baskets
so soz any cat lovers out there,but cats glorify in peeing on sweet peas and marigolds
