Drac. Are you telling me that (and i hope it doesn’t happen to you) that if you were rapped and got pregnant you wouldnt want a termination ?

Not if I found out after about 8 weeks.

I guess you wouldn’t mind visiting the father in jail, drac ?

My cousin was a Franciscan Priest for almost 30 years. Loyal and dedicated to faith and Church.

He got out as became too political. The matter discussed here came up to him in confession. Took many many years to get out of him why he left his faith and church.  This one resson, Regardless if rape or not Church does not believe in abortions. This woman had strong beliefs in her faith. She committed suicide. She was unwed and society looked at her in disgust.. suicide is a no no too!

No ones ever gone to jail for committing suicide or even trying it  ;-)

But before 8 weeks isn’t murder even though the foetus is breathing, has blood pumping through its veins? You are basically saying its murder after 8 weeks

This is what I have said in the past.

I believe the Texas law states it is illegal if a heartbeat can be detected, which is usually at 6 weeks.

I don’t nessersarily agree with this, your status as a human should be determined by the existance of a conciousness in some form, not by a heartbeat. If your heart stops due to a medical condition do human rights stop applying until you are resuscitated? Unfortunately we don’t understand the conciousness to be able to define it in a way that is useful, so I can’t give you an answer to what is right.

    Murder? WTF

Yes, the intentional killing of a human is called murder.

Which part are you confused about?

And what about the full term babies who are still born?

If the stillbirth was caused by the actions of the mother (eg. taking drugs) then she should be charged with murder. It is the same principal as if you injected another person with a needle full of drugs against their will, the principal is the same.

Otherwise it should be treated the same as any other death from natural causes.

I don’t believe that parental status is termined by genetics.

Drac. A termination is not murder. If that was it would be illegal in 99% of the country’s of the world.
