12 September, 2008 at 10:26 pm #369058Fucking bunch of attention seeking bastards!
It’s been the only news worth reading from that club for many months – wouldn’t be surprised to hear it’s been a set up from the offset.
26 September, 2008 at 3:50 pm #369059Joe Kinnear has been put in temporary charge until the new man comes in. He reckons that when the club is sold, could be as early as next week, the new owners want to bring Keegan back along with Alan Shearer.
26 September, 2008 at 3:57 pm #369060If the new owners are as minted as it seems then they’d do well to give Keegan a wide berth.
He’s walked out of every club he’s ever managed without ever seeing the job through. He was also shown up to be tactically naive when he was England Manager.
Maybe Newcastle should look to the Continent and a fresh start.
26 September, 2008 at 4:08 pm #369061Yeah like Ruud Gullit
26 September, 2008 at 4:21 pm #369062Think Dennis Wise was at Watford v Reading recently, but you could read anything and everything into that. I doubt his position is safe at the club anyway, haven’t really heard much but it sounds like these new guys are listening to the fans with talk of Keegan & Shearer. And they don’t want Wise so I can’t imagine he’d be scouting around for a new manager.
They might well have to appoint Keegan regardless, until the end of the season anyway, as I think most managers would be quite reluctant to take the job right now. Remember, the transfer window’s shut and if things don’t improve then Newcastle may well find themselves staring at relegation by the time the window opens. And that’s not an attractive prospect for any big names out there.

Please God let it be so
