STALAG 383

This is the transcript of a notebook, handwritten in pencil by Bill Clark, whilst in Stalag 383, a prisoner of war camp in Hohenfels, Bavaria.
Although Bill was one of many photographers in the camp, he gave most of his collection of photos to the Red Cross about 30 years ago as he felt that they would be best used in some way by them.

Mozart’s wrote his String Quartet in G, K. 387, late in 1782, when he was 26 and a newcomer to Vienna’s musical scene. The Quartet is the first of a set of six quartets that Mozart dedicated to Joseph Haydn.
