I dislike the term “armchair supporter”.
Why?
Because even if I could afford a season ticket I wouldnt buy one as I have family commitments that would make it useless.
It dont mean I love my team any less.
but you can afford to buy an armchair though
only one though.
28 May, 2008 at 6:23 pm #337328all armchair supporters do is regurgitate the opinions of whatever experts the tv station has on for that match
dismiss this if you like but its true
you cant help but be influenced when your sat listening
whereas at the match (where tht real fans are )
you get to make your own mind up
in other words
Shove it up your cushion28 May, 2008 at 8:09 pm #337329I’ve always supported armchairs
They’re fab, you can watch games on Ceefax and knit a brightly coloured scarve at the same time. Don’t like pouffes though……..what have they ever won ?
love these furniture threads

28 May, 2008 at 10:55 pm #337332i mostly watch games with chinese commatary, while streaming them, no way can you understand what they are on about to be influenced
28 May, 2008 at 10:59 pm #337333BBC commentary is about as dire as it comes! I cant stand that Lawrence guy.
I think we are all independant enough to make our own minds up about how we feel a game went.
28 May, 2008 at 11:11 pm #337334of course seeing a game on the box is not the same as the real match experience. My trick is to watch with the sound off but use the commentary from 6-0-6, you get a lot more info that way.
great to hear that Danny Baker is coming back for the euros this summer
28 May, 2008 at 11:20 pm #337335Now he is good. I quite like Lofty from eastenders too, does he still commentate?
Oh the days before sky… trying to get a reception on the radio every saturday afternoon… seems a long time ago now.
28 May, 2008 at 11:26 pm #337336yeah the phone-ins straight after the match are great while emotions are still running high.
