Well I’ll assume you meant the ‘internet’ version of trolling and not the fishing one.

Trolling – (verb), as it relates to internet, is the deliberate act, (by a Troll – noun or adjective), of making random unsolicited and/or controversial comments on various internet forums with the intent to provoke an emotional knee jerk reaction from unsuspecting readers to engage in a fight or argument

Which is where Hugs gets it wrong all the time. People are allowed to disagree with an opinion and voice it without being a Troll. There is a difference. Trolls don’t have an opinion, they just say what they need to, to provoke a reaction.

And by mentioning my chat name when I have not even been involved on this forum is trolling and that is why you have done so.

Read  what you put yourself and this is exactly what you have done posted a trolling post to get a reaction.

So by the definition you have given it proves as I have said before you are a troll.

Oh do grow up Hugs, this is why I used you as an example, because you think by mentioning your name I am a troll. You are wrong. I am allowed to say that in my opinion your definition of Troll is misused and misused regularly on this forum. You call anyone who you dislike a Troll. I am allowed to mention your name. As I am allowed to mention Queen Elizabeth’s name or postman Pat’s name, Fred Astaire, Boris Johnson, Ge, John Travolta, Linda, it is not trolling. I am not abusing you, I said that in my opinion your labelling of people as Trolls is incorrect. I do not want a reaction from you or a confrontation. Should you carry on I shall ignore you. :bye:

Trolling – the sense generally accepted here – is easily handled. As mister q points  out, just ignore.

More of a problem – on both the boards and in the rooms – is bullying, when one person latches on to another and tries to make their life a misery with personal abuse and slander, belittling and trying to humiliate.

Another problem is ganging, which is not illegal but is far more lethal in its effects – especially in the real world. This is when more than one person gangs up on an isolated individual, again belittling and humiliating.

So – ignore trolling, but how is it best to react to bullying and ganging? Especially when the bullying and the ganging are aimed at forcing you out of jc without actually breaking jc rules????

    Any ideas???

yes if u defend yor self from a troll it dont make u a troll @mooosey88

i dont blv trolling is the same as attacking, one is related to starting some prob the other is attacking some scum on earth, no one wants scum on earth, if they think they will get a way with being a cnt then they need to remember people will get epic in attacking them, maybe if they just stfu then it wud not of started.

some people are confusing starting a prob vs attacking someone who deserves it.

i mostly get gang up by pusy guests who also have mem names, then they troll me later with there mem name, even if i dont even say anything to that guest or and member name, but time and time again if i say something insulting to or about them, then i get called a troll, very odd world with a lot of dumb people in it.

also anyone who says “trolls do it to get a reaction” does that make it ok?!, oh he called me this and that, does that make it ok for them to do that?!, (defamation of character), if that was offline they prob wont dare, it is prob related to the (hate crime act) or and (public order act) or  and (malicious communication act) etc, anyone who knows trolls, and likes them people who starts a prob for no good reason needs there brain testing to see if it lacking intell.

which is where hugs gets it wrong. Hugs calls anyone who disagrees with him a troll. maybe sometimes they are but a lot of the time they just disagree ! it is still allowed to voice an opinion in disagreement, just, though with so many snowflakes nowadays, feeling it is their job to feel outraged and offended on ‘behalf’ of others I don’t think it will be long before anyone voicing an opinion is labelled in a derogatory manner. hate snowflakes !!! except in winter :-)

Hugs seem to spend all his time looking for and naming people ‘trolls’. It’s obvious he has a serious obsession. Will he listen, no of course he won’t. When did anyone addicted to going in Chatrooms or addicted to Social Media ever say I’m not doing that anymore? No time ever!

Is it me or has the troll magic wand been waved and a post has vanished into thin air when a certain chatter is shown up?

In answer to sceppers…..the same answer remains…..ignore…..

In order to clarify this, there are 2 solutions…..one is the iggy button and the other is more advanced and possibly more mature where one can’t rely on one pressing a button but making mature choices as to who and when to iggy in one’s mind…

After all….most things start in the mind….
