Sick to the back teeth of this ‘peoples vote’ crap. We HAD a peoples vote..leave won. You would think that would be the end of it…but no…remoaners have moaned, whinged, complained, had tantrums, marches, demanded another referendum…apparantly we didnt know what we were voting for. 🙄
Sadiq Khan has been demanding another vote…see attached. He has a short memory. 🙄

15 December, 2018 at 1:36 am #1110522Now, drac, I remember you continually scorning my point that a referendum could well be on the way. You were saying that there was no way that a second referendum could be held.
I’ve been against a ‘People’s Vote’ at this present time, even though I’m a Remainer, and I’m still deeply unhappy with it, but I think it’s coming.
I think it’s coming because it’s going to be a mark of the failure of the present parliament. If May’s deal is rejected – which looks very likely, I don’t think they’ll be able to agree on any alternative. I’m think that they’re going to stop No Deal, no matter what you or I say, but I’m not sure of that..
They will therefore have failed the ‘instruction’ of the 2016 vote. The referendum instructed parliament to leave the EU. They failed to agree a deal. Brexit has ended in bollox, but not because of a conspiracy. I don’t think they’re capable of organising a pissup in a brewery, never mind conspiring to bring about this mess. I think it was an incredible lack of political skill by may and her negotiators, and I think the task of squaring the task of leaving the EU and obeying international law through keeping the Irish border open couldn’t be squared.
Their failure to agree on what to do means that the decision on how to leave must once again go back to the people.
The only real alternative is that this Parliament could well end up leading us out of the EU without a deal – really. Now that would be bad, very bad, imho.

I think that holding a second referendum is a terrible idea.

That seems to be what JC users want, so far.

15 December, 2018 at 3:58 am #1110531There’s no option for “Kick every single person who wanted a ‘peoples vote’, into the sea”
So I went for the second best option of “No Deal”
15 December, 2018 at 10:30 am #1110534Lets have 3 votes like Ireland till remain wins.
That seems fair.

15 December, 2018 at 1:38 pm #1110537Remain isn’t and should NEVER be an option, that ship has sailed. What, divide the leave vote and remain by default ? Of course that is exactly what some want to happen You’d have to be very niaeve to believe otherwise !!
