It was meant when it was said
And I will soon be dead
    Words should live on

but through words,,do we truly die..
or like a manuscript,do we gently curl upwards.?
Like a well thumbed book of childhood past,
with broken spine, from whence we read it last.

and chucked upon the wall,in glee.
to gather dust,to become like a broken down toy
that no one seeks to gaze upon.
so on the shelf we remain forlorn……..

with only more words,,longer, more growed up ,
    that basically say the same.
Janet and john were once love folks,
and so was Ibiza in Spain…

a poem of sheer gibberish,,rubyred,3 seconds ago :)

I have a ripped book and Ive searched to find a copy of it. Its about a witch, and when I read it as a kid I had to look up the word “melancoly” (spl)… it was a lovely book.

But even if I were to replace it
It will never replace the beshaggled copy that I own. Its been through my young years… numerous house moves.

Its the only thing I have to remember my other gran by.

chuckle@ beshaggled… yeah i know what ya mean shazz..i have a cupboard full of old books,,i kept them to pass them on…but then the world changed and kids wanted more than words on a page.. Though i admit my 2 liked me reading Roald Dahl when wee,,as id put on all the different voices etc.

Grimms fairy tales STILL scare me !

I got mine a new set of Roald Dahls at work from the bookman… a lovely guy that brings books for us to buy.

They’ve done what i did. read the ones that everybody talks about lmao

apart from an Enid blyton thing i read, the first novel i EVER read was “skinhead” lol,,i was far too young and never really understood the Joe Hawkins genre.. I didnt get the dirty bits at all!!! i was 8 !

went back to Enid as she was more convincing to a young brain, that sought after treasure troves and lashings and lashings of ginger beer !

Then as an adult ,i wanted to splatter her writings as an anti Marxist sub – plot..

    laugh at own joke !

I was still reading her books when I was 17   and can still picture the pages with all my scribblings over them.

The naughtiest girl in the school was only second to the wishing chair/enchanted wood ones.
