Ok, was told to ask owen kash, but anyone that has any ideas id welcome to answer plzzz! lol

friend of mine, her windows was messed up, we talked to the tech support ppl at dell, they told us to reinstall windows, drivers, everything. Ok, so we done that, someone telling us to delete a partition on her comp, and install the new windows on there, we done all of that. only problem, it still has the old windows program on there too, and we cant find it in any folders or anywhere, to delete it. when she starts her comp, it doesnt automatically load now, she has to choose which windows program to use before it will load, and its started telling her that shes running out of space, and has to delete some programs. i need to know if anyone has any ideas, on how to delete the old windows, or even the new windows, and do it rt, so that theres only 1 windows program on there, and i have no idea, and no one that iv asked has had any idea either, becsuse theres not a folder anywhere to be found. PLEASEEEEEE HELPPPP lol ty xx

if you run from a windows boot disc, run it into dos, and run FDISK, this will let you delete both partitions(if need be), and create a new one , its a bit tricky to do, but also very simple, once you have deleted both patitions, and created the new one, format, then restart again with the boot disc, then run windows setup from the cd drive

to learn more about partitions, go to..

its a matter of trial and error, teaching yourself

    good luck

Boot from the installation disc, delete both partitions and then format your HDD using the NTFS. Once the format has completed reinstall windows and all system drivers.

It is very easy to do.

NTFS = Windows 2000 nt file system or for short NTFS. When you boot from the XP installation disc you will be given two format options one will be FAT32 and the other will be NTFS.

Choose NTFS as it is far more secure.

Go to the link above and read the tutorial posted under XP repair install half way down the page. This will show you how to boot from the XP CD. Donot repair the installation though instead delete both partitions, format the HDD using the NTFS option and then instal XP.

It really is easy to do.
