    Newark Food and Drink Festival
Saturday 16 June in Newark Market Place

With the popularity of festivals and the success of ‘The Greatest Showman’ circus fun seems to be all the rage. Next year Newark is even hosting the European Juggling Convention which is sensational news.

With this in mind Newark Town Council has arranged something very special for the Food and Drink Festival in June. The Yellow Bus Street Circus is coming to town!
This is a one day festival of circus and street entertainment to run along-side the food festival. You can look forward to some of the best acts from festivals around the world and there will be back to back shows and walk about programmes lasting around 30 minutes each running throughout the day.

In addition the market place will be filled with street food and drink stalls and there will be a food demonstration area provided by COOKERYLIVE.

This is also the NEWARK FESTIVAL WEEKEND and so Newark will be buzzing!

With special thanks to Middlebeck for sponsoring this event.

    The Chequers

    The Chequers 01954 488201

Located centrally within the sprawling village of Cottenham (6 miles north of Cambridge) and overlooking the war memorial sits the 180 year old Chequers public house.

Fully renovated upon re-opening in Summer 2013, and updated periodically since, The Chequers team would like to welcome you to a family friendly free house pub with bar and restaurant, offering real ales and good value, fantastic food.

The main menu offers pub classics and exciting specials at an affordable price, with roasts (and more) on Sundays served from 12 until 4. We also offer authentic Italian pizzas to eat-in or takeaway, made in a wood-fired oven in the garden and cooked by our Scillian Pizza Chef.

In the bar there are a variety of cask ales including Adnams, and a constantly changing range of guest ales together with a varied wine list to suit all palates and pockets! We can also offer Aspall cider on draft, a range of lagers, and the ever popular draught Guiness, spirits, soft drinks and a selection of teas and coffees, plus free wifi.

Our newly laid beer garden has recently opened, allowing children to play safely whilst their parents relax. or their parents nip to the co-op to have bottom slapped by the local travelling community.

Previous events have included a Beer Festival, Christmas Shopping Event, Meat the Butcher plus Private parties and Charity, Wedding, And Tragic Funeral events. See our Events page for forthcoming dates / plans.

I Am Literally A Two Minute Walk From Here As I Have Just Bought A One Bedroom Flat In The Area, And Will Be Living There, Until Everything Is Finalised ;-)
