A discussion to minimise abuse that escalates on boards and in forums ? by forums do you mean the chatrooms ?
The title thread is ” should the message boards be dissolved ?” Well that would certainly ‘minimise ‘ abuse on them lol lol . How would it minimise the daily abuse which occurs in the chatrooms ?
There’s a definite whiff of ‘ oh that lot are fighting on the boards again’ going on here, when in fact you can go in the chatroom on any given day of the week and there will be people fighting, trolling, being abusive, as regulars but mainly anonymously as numbers. Maybe you personally are not involved maybe you are having a laugh and a chat with some decent chatters, there are many who still go in after all, but it goes on, I promise you it does. So closing the chatroom is not really an option for you, you enjoy chatting with your friends despite the fact a minority do their best to spoil it, same with the boards, the difference is , for me anyway, you have time to think before you type, you can give a considered opinion in your own time, you can add to a thread or ignore it. It’s less of a free for all. Just my opinion. Not sure what the ‘ personal attack ‘ bit meant tho, sorry

It is absolutely pointless blaming this person, or blaming that person. The boards need moderating and the rooms needs moderating. However, there is a members only room yet the members refuse to use it. I actually think the boards are tame compared to what goes on in the rooms, particularly room 3 and those who describe the boards as the “wailing wall” don’t pipe up in the room when their mates are at it.

As soon as i saw dd,s post,starting with personal attack surley not and the syes to the sky mojo,i just couldent be botherd.#This is the attatude if you say anything to her,try and explane whats going on.This has been her attatude with me for years in the room.Shes a prominant member,she has her crew is never interested in anything,certenley i have to say.People like mizzy,me,cosy,and umpteen other menembers,especially if they have any kind of visibal problem.I have often tried to be nice with her hoping that we perhaps can comunicate,but any effort,i have made has ended up with a snide clever remark from her that has irritated me to the point where i have argued back and always ends up with the same thing comming from her,telling me i am vile.True she has never made the effert back,perhaps the woman just dosent like me and dosent want to comunicate with me and i should just keep my gob shut.
However i just think that post was onley there to cause agrivation.
