    Oh I did look at the website properly, in some depth, that’s how I know how many houses are empty in my area and how many have been empty for 6 months or more. We also have a relatively low % of empty homes, maybe because we’re on a main train line into London and attract a lot of commuters that don’t want to or can’t pay London prices for accomodation.

    You said there was a charity in place to tackle this. Maybe our views of tackling it are different; the charity is raising awareness and giving guidance which is of course needed, but they are not “tackling it” as in taking the properties and making them habitable, which was the point being made.

    As for being the forum police, far from it, but just for once I was finding it refreshing to have an intelligent and serious discussion within JC…it doesn’t happen often :wink:
