long live the norwich communist workers party

As I have said before …. the sins of the father & all that !

We grew up thinking the Germans were horrible because of the war. Lets face it they were !!

We grew up with Love thy neighbour on the TV…. Chalky & Honky were terms of endearment & no offence was taken.

The Black & White Minstrels were prime time viewing on a Saturday evening.

Wars happen all over – yes help where we can but there is only so much that can be done realistically.

As adults we all form our own opinions on all manner of issues but most of us accept that our views aren’t always shared. That’s life :)

ARC what do you mean by Sins of the Father and all that??

I dont like that saying for the following reasons:

If my dad was a Nazi – should i be responsible for his actions – Christ no.

If my dad was a rapist – should my brothers be put on a sex register list – Christ no.

Only the ignorant use the past for a reason to bring it forward, like Trapper said (in a other thread a while back) there are no racist children they only get that way by who has brought them up.

Many times a apple does fall from a tree, and therefore the sins of the Father are the Fathers sins – not their offspring.

Hence why i ask – what do you mean by sins of the Father and all that??

There you go Lucy you answered your own question. Well in the original context of this thread anyway . :)

Hence the expression I used … ! the sins of the father. You seem to have taken it quite literally that I am referring to men … That is not the case . Children learn by example.

Where rapists etc comes into it I don’t know. That’s a whole different debate there.

C’mon as if I would suggest that because a man is a rapist his son would be.

I’m not sure ‘Chalky’ was ever a term of endearment. It was used at a time when being racist was acceptable.

    Times change, thank goodness.

Back to your Bristol pub, human kindness, thinkUnion Jack and watch good old English elevision, make things up about anybody who doesn’t fit into your narrow and rather old-fahioned way of who is and isn’t English. :)

But you lot should make your bloody minds up .

One moment I’m a goody-goody, another a naughty boy rather than the Messiah, another a Communist Workers Party.

Told you all – I am Quasimodo, John Wayne on a good day. :)

I still feel the same as i did a few weeks ago, without proper screening they can NOT be called refugees – not all of them.

I still dont understand how the Irish have no money but can suddenly pull thousands out of the air to help these people but ignoring the existing residents.

Lots of air strikes against ISIS recently so hopefully now something of importance might happen for the good for the people of Syria.
