I have to say I am quite shocked by the posting of yet another child on beach picture on what was quite clearly a tongue in cheek thread.
It might not be to everyone’s taste in humour in which case why post when there is already an active SERIOUS thread with great exchanges of views on it ?

All I have to do is write a pot and I’m accusing you of being a Nazi, a racist, whatever. I spent a while correcting you at each point on one thread before I realised that you’re a bit of an idiot, or maybe just someone with a persecution complex.
I do accuse people here of xenophobia, sometimes rabid xenophobia.
I am bang-in-order posting that pic because it showed people up for their xenophobia.
This thread has become a fount of very poor anti-Islamic jokes since someone registered their disgust at the reactions to the picture – I have cracked anti-Christian jokes which are much sharper, and have made Christians laugh out loud, these are weak weak weak.
It started as a right-wing hate thread dressed up as humour – that was why I posted the pic, and why it was bang-in-order.
Whatever you think of how to deal with the immigrant crisis – Ms K has expressed a very human sympathy, but also a sense of helplessness as to what to do which is common – it’s important to remember the suffering these people are going through. The pic was meant to do that, and stands appropriately in what was initially a hate thread about the use of children as suicide bombers. It’s that use, and the involvement of children in the beheadings, which has intensified the refugee crisis. Europe is getting only the tip of it – most Syrian refugees have fled to neighbouring countries which cannot cope, and which hare themselves getting dragged into a general conflict.
I felt that this was a hate thread – the pic was appropriate. The initial reactions to the pic indicated I was right.

Ive already agreed with you, that what is happening is wrong, sick and unjustified but just because i want my Government to concentrate on existing residents (regardless if they are Irish or not) before the rest of the world does not make me racist.If i had a problem with everyone but the Irish, i would be on a Irish chat site not a UK one.
There are many posters here, off all colours and backgrounds – so make sure you understand the words your posting before you continue to use words that dont make any sense – like excusing others of being xenophobia.Scep ….. YOU saw it as a hate thread.
The rest of us took it as a tongue in cheek thread.
As I sad before if a thread is not to your taste don’t post on it simples.
…. but please don’t go calling us all xenophobes because we have a slightly different view to you. :)
