There have been so many – maybe (or maybe not?) we shall see.

    COLD CONSOMME SOUP / MOUSSE:

Take one can of Campbell’s Condensed Beef Consomme. (NB: It MUST be Campbells’ condensed as it won’t work with ordinary consomme).

Pour this into a blender and add around 600grams of full fat cream cheese (NOT your girly reduced fat stuff).

Blend them together until they form a thick smooth creamy liquid and then add the magic ingredient – ONE flattened teaspoonful of medium curry powder.

Blend some more until all is thoroughly mixed with no lumps etc etc.

Pour the thick creamy liquid into ramekins or equivalent small individual portion dishes and place into the fridge either overnight or for 24 hours (covered in clingfilm to prevent the surface drying out & crusting) – so that the mixture sets.

It sounds a wee bit strange, but believe me it tastse absolutely fantastic.

Serve it cold as a starter and challenge your guests to guess what the ingredients are. 99% never get it right.

ohhh sounds rank btw but mum is best working with cambells condensed soup.. she does meatballs with the minestrone one excellent even know I can make doesnt taste the same…

ohhhh 28 posts to go… will I or won’t I… this is the question… lol

Well actually I did all the cooking Mary – it’s the only way to get a decent meal around here!!!

We had guests for lunch on Sunday, so I did a traditional roast rib of beef with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes etc etc. Starter was my own recipe of cream cheese & curried beef consomme mousse (recipe available on request), and dessert was an apple flan with Chantilly whipped cream. All for a total of 8 people.

Christmas day was roast pork, stuffing, sprouts, roast potatoes, sprouts etc etc followed by Christmas pudding and home made brandy butter. I also did a honey roasted gammon for cold cuts on Boxing Day.

Yes we had a really traditional Italian Christmas – they all sat back farting whilst I did all the work.

cream of cheese & curried beef consomme mousse…. soup mousse use lots of geletine did we lol i’ll pass on the recipe mind you would have an intresting swap of knowledge when meeting Nick Nairn…

I bet u excelled yourself, nice choice of wine’s to complement then…

asking next year from Santa a man who can cook lol mind you I love cooking espeically the more the merryier easier to cook for 12 than 2… wouldnt you say PB

well im at the bottom on the wages chart… as a Molly Maid i am when working… I work my fingers to a bone, in untidy, dirty smelly hooses which most of my clients are of the hospital backgrounds, lawyers, judges, business men and woman, and the delightful widowers whom don’t need cleaners they want a firendly face and company and would leave a bar or two off the electric fire to scrimp for their monthly visit from MM…. whom some still are forced to pay taxes on their pensions because it takes them over a threshold…. a meer pitance may I add…

while the company directors are fleecing their next tax-free bonus’s… footballers raking in thousands a week paying a standard tax, most of the Brits out living in tax-free havens and still reaping the beneifts, cold weather payments getting sent abroad to penisors whom don’t need it.. there are soo many faults and unfairness in life hense why its called life eh. Then we have Paisley Councieller retiring 10 of them giving a golden handshake and £20,000.00 bonus…. for serives to the council, and guess who takes over their jobs…. their WIVES…!!! something fishy eh…!!

Im all for different tax thresholds… as at times I wonder why I work when im worst off than I would if I didnt work…
