Thanks for all your comments………seems like it will be new carpet plus new vacuum cleaner.My flat is a sandwich so i need to drown out the neighbors whilst sound proofing as much as possible and keeping the hall carpet clean.

Might even lay carpet on the ceiling….LMAO

Ok so i’m having to get a new hall covering but undecided between vinyl and carpet….both have their good and bad points…..

Carpet is soundproof and warm but gathers dirt too much where as vinyl is easy to clean but at the same time……doesn’t mask sound much…

What are your opinions of vinyl and carpet in general?

Personally linda…….my attitude tends mostly not to react to other people but respond,redirect or just ignore….so you’re quite correct in a lot of what you say….
